Impact previously wrestled with the WWE under the names John Morrison and Johnny Nitro. After winning the reality show Tough Enough, Impact forged himself a successful career where he regularly held the tag team championships. He eventually left in 2011 and now finds himself representing Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling.

Reports at the start of the year claimed the wrestler would imminently sign with NJPW. This never happened and instead, he remains with Impact Wrestling where he is largely wasted despite his great look and the fact that he is one of the company's biggest names.

A return to WWE looks likely considering Impact reportedly only signed a one-year contract extension in December of last year. This would mean that his contract will soon expire and at the age of 39, Impact may feel like a final run in WWE would be the perfect way to end his successful career.
