Jeff Hardy got drafted to SmackDown Live after winning the United States Championship just the previous night on RAW. After defending the title against Randy Orton at Backlash, Hardy faced The Miz and Daniel Bryan in two failed attempts to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Word spread that Jeff was dealing with a leg injury which though wasn't serious, but kept him out of the PPV so as not to sever the leg.
The wrestler who has always fought back from serious injuries all throughout his career was dearly missed at MITB. A championship match against the likes of Tye Dillinger or Andrade "Cien" Almas would've been a treat to watch.
