5 wrestlers who WWE should sign this year

Kenny Omega
Are we looking at the next WWE Superstar?

There are so many pro-wrestling promotions in the world that do different things and set differing priorities. However, WWE is the most successful show amongst them and most, if not all, wrestlers would have watched and admired it at some point in their career.

Here's a look at five wrestlers who WWE should look to sign this year

#5 Will Ospreay

The Aerial Assassin

Ospreay is currently signed to NJPW and Ring of Honor and also participates on the Indy scene around the world, but at 24 years of age, has the best years of his career in front of him.

Boasting an impressive resume already with wins in the best of Super Juniors cup and two-time IWGP JR Heavyweight Champion as well as titles in ROH and promotions around the world, Ospreay would absolutely stand out in the WWE due to his name value outside of the promotion, and his stand out ability in the ring.

#4 Pete Dunne

The WWE UK Champion

Pete Dunne is already signed to a type of WWE Developmental contract, but that is not prohibiting him from appearing around the globe for PWG, PROGRESS, REVPRO and other promotions.

This means WWE are not completely sold on the current WWE UK Champion. Dunne is 24 and has already had some of the best matches of 2017 in WWE despite wrestling only a handful of times and not being part of the roster. The 'Cruiserweight's' attention to detail and ring work is wonderful, and his heel persona makes everyone want to boo, despite the admiration he gets as a professional.

#3 Ricochet

Ricochet or LuchaUnderground's Prince Puma is now a free agent and hitting independent spots only as his NJPW and Lucha deals came to an end. Widely considered along with Will Ospreay as the current greatest high flying wrestler, Ricochet could do great things in the WWE in match-ups with Neville (if he returns), Cedric Alexander and Mustapha Ali to name a few.

In the same vein as Ospreay, Ricochet has the outside name value that could really help integrate him quickly into the WWE fold.

#2 Kenny Omega

The leader of the Bullet Club in full flight

All roads don't always lead to WWE and for many of the Bullet Club members in NJPW, they are more than comfortable going nowhere near WWE. Kenny, however, has been in developmental in the past and is always looking for bigger and better things in his career.

Once he becomes IWGP Heavyweight Champion finally, a spot in WWE and feuding with the likes of Seth Rollins and Finn Balor would provide a whole new challenge and give WWE a ready-made bonafide star.

#1 CM Punk

The Best in the World
The Best in the World

Since the day it was announced CM Punk had gone on a leave of absence after the Royal Rumble, the WWE Universe has been clamouring for a CM Punk return. It is now customary to hear CM Punk chants across the US and has been referenced on TV multiple times in the subsequent years by Stephanie McMahon, The Rock, Elias and Paul Heyman.

Punk drew money in his time with the company and was adored by fans, and an explosive return would draw huge ratings and potential matches for the straight edge superstar.
