There were several people thinking Shinsuke Nakamura might walk out of Hell In A Cell as WWE Champion. If they honestly believed that was a possibility, they were very wrong.
This match might have underdelivered the most out of all the matches in Detroit, but there was still no shortage of excitement toward the end of the encounter.
When the referee ejected The Singh Brothers from ringside, a lot of people thought it was opening a door for Nakamura to Kinshasa his way to his first main roster title win. But they don't call Mahal the Modern Day Maharaja for nothing.
Jinder Mahal ended up hitting The Khallas on Shinsuke Nakamura and pinning him clean. Not only does this win make Mahal look great and his finish extremely strong, but it also probably takes Nakamura out of the top echelon of the SmackDown Live roster for now.
It was certainly a surprising way for things to end as few saw a clean win coming.
