The Ultimate Warrior was synonymous with the IC title at SummerSlam

The Ultimate Warrior was part of the first-ever SummerSlam event in 1988, winning the Intercontinental Championship from The Honky Tonk Man in just 31 seconds, and he won the title again the following year in a 16-minute match against Rick Rude.

In 1990, he defeated Rude in a rematch from the previous year, this time in a steel cage and with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line, and he teamed with Hulk Hogan to defeat The Triangle of Terror (Col. Mustafa, Gen. Adnan & Sgt. Slaughter) in 1991.

In Warrior’s final SummerSlam appearance in 1992, he defeated Randy Savage in a World Heavyweight Championship match at Wembley Stadium in London but the title didn’t change hands because the victory was via count-out.
