There are several perceptions when it comes to professional wrestling, but the moves that WWE stars deliver in the ring can often have serious health repercussions.

Accidents often happen and it appears that all of these stars suffered their injuries as a result of an error in front of a live crowd. Unlike many sports, WWE matches are not won via knockout, but there are times stars are revealed to have suffered concussions during their matches, and they then need medical attention afterwards.

There have been times in the past when WWE has scripted a star being knocked out as part of a feud, but the following list looks at five times that WWE stars legitimately blacked out.

#5. Goldberg is knocked out by a ring post at WWE Super ShowDown in 2019

Goldberg was once seen as one of the toughest stars in the business, his undefeated streak was unmatchable and he walked away from the sport as a legend.

In recent years, the former WCW star has resurfaced in WWE and has been able to lift the Universal Championship on two separate occasions. Goldberg became such a huge name in the business during his first stint that The Undertaker personally asked for a match against the former Champion at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia back in 2019.

It wasn't the match that either man had prepared themselves for since there were several botches throughout and both men were lucky to walk away without severe injuries.

Goldberg himself Tweeted after the match to confirm at one point that he was knocked out. This came after the former WCW star was thrown into the ring post by The Deadman but instead of taking the bump on his shoulder, he took it clean on his head.

Goldberg also landed on his head after a Tombstone to The Undertaker which probably didn't help matters. The star went on to finish the match but it was clear following the collision with the ring post that Goldberg was struggling because many of his moves were awkwardly delivered and he almost dropped The Undertaker on his head when he delivered the Jackhammer.

#4. Enzo Amore was knocked out at WWE Payback in 2016

Enzo Amore and Big Cass were once seen as huge contenders in WWE's Tag Team Championship picture. Back at Payback in 2016, the duo faced off against The Vaudevillians for the right to challenge The New Day for the RAW Tag Team Championships.

The match didn't go to plan for either team, since the match was stopped early and Enzo Amore was rushed to a local medical facility after suffering a head injury.

The injury came when Simon Gotch from The Vaudevillians attempted to throw Amore out of the ring but he then collided with the second rope. The former NXT star then fell to the floor on the outside and lay motionless before he was approached by medical officials.

The match was abandoned but updates from Amore later in the day showed that he was able to be released from hospital and didn't suffer any major injuries from the incident.

Enzo and Cass later split and were released from WWE before they were able to capture Tag Team Championship gold.

#3. Kairi Sane was knocked out at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs back in 2019

Kairi Sane was the inaugural winner of WWE's Mae Young Classic after defeating Shayna Baszler in the final.

This catapulted Sane into the spotlight and later saw her promoted to the main roster, where she was aligned with fellow Japanese star Asuka. As The Kabuki Warriors, the duo became Women's Tag Team Champions and were challenged for their titles at WWE TLC back in 2019 by Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

After being put through a table by Charlotte Flair mid-way through the match it was obvious that Sane was struggling. The former NXT Women's Champion played little part in the rest of the match, with Becky Lynch trying to shield Sane from much of the action.

It was later revealed that Sane had been knocked out at some point in the match and it is unknown why she wasn't pulled out when medical officials came over to check on her following the table bump.

Sane later tweeted a thumbs-up emoji to show that she was feeling fine, whilst Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair also Tweeted Sane following the match.

#2. Shane McMahon is knocked out at WWE Survivor Series back in 2016

Shane McMahon may be the son of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, but that hasn't prevented him from mixing it up in the ring over the years.

McMahon was the Commissioner of SmackDown back in 2016 and was made part of the traditional Survivor Series elimination match between RAW and SmackDown at WWE's Survivor Series pay-per-view.

At the time, McMahon's sons and his wife were at ringside to watch the show, but Randy Orton was forced to go over and let the family know that Shane was fine following an awkward bump.

McMahon was going for a Coast to Coast when Roman Reigns delivered a spear to him in mid-air and the 51-year-old (who was 46 at the time) had a nasty landing.

It was clear from the moment McMahon hit the mat that there was a problem but Reigns went for the pin and Shane appeared to kick out but was still eliminated from the match.

McMahon then had to be helped back up the ramp following his elimination and was attended to by medical professionals.

#1. Liv Morgan is knocked out by WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella on Monday Night RAW

Liv Morgan came to WWE through the company's NXT setup and has since become one of the most recognizable women in the company.

Back in 2019, Liv Morgan was part of a six-woman tag team match on Monday Night RAW which pitted The Riott Squad up against The Bella Twins and Natalya.

Brie Bella was delivering the kicks that were made famous by her husband Daniel Bryan when one of her kicks went awry and Morgan received it straight in the face.

Video footage of the kicks showed that Morgan was instantly knocked out and had to be dragged to the corner so that she could tag out of the match. Despite the injury, Morgan continued the match and was able to finish before receiving medical attention.

Twitter exploded following the incident, with many WWE fans lashing out at Brie Bella, who was seemingly too busy playing to the audience at the time to notice where her kicks were landing.
