Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns joined forces with Chris Jericho to face The Wyatt Family at WWE Night of Champions 2015.

Heading into the pay-per-view, the build-up revolved around who the mystery third member of The Shield would be. At that point, Seth Rollins had been a member of The Authority for over a year, but Ambrose and Reigns always remained allies.

With uncertainty surrounding the identity of their partner, a fan ran into the ring wearing Shield-esque attire and stared directly at Reigns. Both Reigns and Ambrose looked at the man before WWE’s security team ushered him away.

As is the case with most stories in this article, the fan invasion has been edited out of the PPV replay on the WWE Network.

Reigns and Ambrose did not say anything to the fan or go near him. Seconds later, Jericho’s music hit and the nine-time WWE Intercontinental Champion was revealed as their tag team partner.

The match ended in a win for The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, and Luke Harper). Jericho and Ambrose had a disagreement at the end of the match, planting the seeds for their one-on-one rivalry in 2016.
