SummerSlam is considered to be one of WWE's biggest shows of the year. While there is a long list of stars who have made their debuts at other pay-per-view or made their first appearance in a Royal Rumble match, there are not many stars who have been given the opportunity to debut at SummerSlam.

The Biggest Party of the Summer has seen some impressive debuts over the years even though there have been few. This year, there will be another star joining the list of debutants.

Here are five WWE Superstars who saw their first in-ring action at SummerSlam over the years.

#5. Eva Marie - SummerSlam 2013

Eva Marie made her debut on Monday Night RAW as part of a backstage segment in the summer of 2013. This then led to the debut of Total Divas on the E! Network. Marie had already ensured that she would stand out when she slapped Jerry Lawler as part of her first appearance in a WWE ring and then seemingly stepped into a feud with her Natalya when she became the valet for The Bella Twins.

This led to Eva Marie making her in-ring debut as part of SummerSlam Axxess back in 2013. Marie teamed with Brie Bella in her match against Natalya and Maria Menounos in a losing effort, with Marie pinned to end the match.

This was Eva Marie's debut match but it wasn't part of the overall SummerSlam show, even though it was recorded and later used on Total Divas to help build up the feuds in the show at that time. Eva Marie and the women of Total Divas later transitioned into a feud with AJ Lee which then led to numerous six-woman tag matches where Marie was able to wrestle on WWE's main shows.

#4. Darren Young - SummerSlam 2010

Before his first appearance at SummerSlam, Darren Young made his debut in WWE as part of NXT's first season where he was working under the leadership of CM Punk. Despite having the former World Champion as his mentor, Young was still eliminated from the competition ahead of the final.

Despite not winning the competition, Young still made his debut on RAW a few weeks later, destroying the ringside area and attacking John Cena, CM Punk, and the crew who were in the arena at the time.

The Nexus took over RAW in the weeks that followed but while the team was booked in a handicap match against Cena on RAW, Young wasn't part of the match since he suffered injuries the week before when he was attacked by the former World Champion.

This meant that Darren Young didn't make his in-ring debut until SummerSlam when The Nexus were booked into a seven-on-seven elimination match, which included the return of former Nexus member Daniel Bryan.

Young was the first person to be eliminated from the match at SummerSlam after he tapped to Daniel Bryan in under a minute, so it appears that his long-awaited in-ring debut didn't exactly go to plan.

Luckily, Young had a number of other matches at SummerSlam throughout his career that were a little longer.

#3. Stephen Amell - SummerSlam 2015

Stephen Amell made it clear on his social media account that he was a huge wrestling fan and that he wanted to appear as a guest on Monday Night RAW. Finally, the star who had become known as Oliver Queen in the television show Arrow made his debut on WWE TV and had a confrontation with Stardust. This led to rumors that the two stars would face off at SummerSlam in Amell's first wrestling match.

After he was assaulted at ringside by Stardust a few weeks later, Amell looked to step into the ring but was held back by security.

It was later revealed by Triple H that Amell would team with Neville to take on Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam. The duo managed to pick up the win and backstage WWE stars were impressed with Amell's overall performance.

It was as part of this storyline that Amell and Cody Rhodes became friends, which led to Cody making a guest appearance on Arrow. Later, Amell wrestled his first-ever singles match at All In in 2018, where he defeated Christopher Daniels.

#2. The Fiend - SummerSlam 2019

Bray Wyatt made a name for himself in WWE as the patriarch of The Wyatt Family, and that version of his character had numerous SummerSlam appearances. After a strange back and forth with Randy Orton and a tag team title run with Matt Hardy, Wyatt went on a lengthy hiatus from WWE TV.

When Wyatt made his return, he decided to bring someone else along with him. The Fiend was Wyatt's alter-ego and was unveiled in The Firefly Fun House before he went on to attack Finn Balor.

The two men had already faced off at SummerSlam a few years before. But this time around, The Fiend would be taking on Balor in his debut match under this new guise.

Balor was defeated by The Fiend and was the first star to become his victim, The Demon King has since moved to NXT and hasn't appeared on the main roster since. The Fiend has continued his reign of fear and this weekend at SummerSlam he's battling Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship.

#1. Dominik Mysterio - SummerSlam 2020

This weekend WWE presents their biggest pay-per-view of the summer, SummerSlam, from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. This is the first time that WWE has presented a pay-per-view outside of their Performance Center since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the matches scheduled, the show will also see the debut of the son of former World Champion, Rey Mysterio.

Over the past few months, Mysterio has been locked in a feud with Seth Rollins and Murphy but after The Monday Night Messiah cost Mysterio his eye when the two men faced off at Extreme Rules, Dominik was forced to exact some revenge.

Dominik has since signed his official WWE contract and been attacked by both Murphy and Rollins. This weekend, Dominik will make his in-ring debut at SummerSlam in a Street Fight against Seth Rollins.

Interestingly, this match takes place 18 years after his father made his SummerSlam debut back in 2002. On that night, Mysterio was forced to tap to the Ankle Lock in a losing effort to Kurt Angle.
