2. Finn Balor

Just like fellow Irish Becky Lynch, who was mentioned earlier in this list, Finn Balor was also an inaugural champion. The Demon King became the first ever Universal Champion when he defeated Seth Rollins in 2016 Summer Slam PPV.
And with that victory, it was clear cut that Balor could be the franchise, the next John Cena, the face of the WWE.

However, a labrum tear injury which would require surgery enabled Balor to relinquished the title. Since then his status in the WWE has spiraled down and Balor was even sent to NXT last year.
But fortunately, the former NXT Champion was able to recover thanks to an A-plus performance in the Greatest Royal Rumble and his most recent victory against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match which could be an opportunity to revive his career.
Suggestion: Let Finn win the Money in the Bank contract or put together more matches between him and Rollins.
