Will Big E be the next rival for The Fiend?

Big E is very much a fan favourite in WWE and has recently headed out on his own on a singles run, while his fellow New Day teammates are absent from Smackdown. Since The New Day lost the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Extreme Rules, Big E has been one of the top stars of the blue brand along with The Fiend.

Since going solo, Big E has notched up a handful of wins against his foes and was recently attacked by Sheamus, who ruined his chance to compete for a shot at the WWE Universal Championship by dropping him through a car windshield. Big E is currently recovering from the vicious assault, but could he be targeted by The Fiend when he returns?

In 2016, The Wyatt Family made rivals of The New Day. The solemn trio were the perfect contrast to the constantly upbeat and colourful New Day. The actions and words of The Wyatt Family seemed to have the most serious effect on Xavier Woods at the time. They faced off in a brawl at The Wyatt Family Compound, something which now feels as though it was a prelude to today's cinematic matches.

Making use of the history between Big E and The Fiend could be a way to firmly establish The New Day star as a serious singles competitor on Smackdown.
