Becky Lynch won the Raw Women’s Championship from Ronda Rousey and the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair in the ‘Winner Take All’ main event at WWE WrestleMania 35.

The following night on Raw, she discussed the biggest victory of her career during an in-ring promo before she was interrupted by Lacey Evans, who walked down the ramp and struck the new champion across the face with her Women’s Right punch. "The Man” then followed “The Lady of WWE” back up the ramp and stood tall on the stage area after a brawl near the announce desk.

As many fans have pointed out on social media since this week’s Raw, Evans is yet to even win a match since she left NXT and started appearing on Raw and SmackDown Live. She has featured twice on Main Event, losing on both occasions to Natalya, while she was eliminated from the 2019 Royal Rumble.

Given that the former marine has done nothing to earn an opportunity at Lynch’s titles, let’s take a look at five alternative Superstars who could realistically challenge the WrestleMania 35 main-eventer in the coming weeks.

#5 Asuka

Asuka was due to face the winner of Carmella vs. Naomi vs. Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 35. However, WWE decided to scrap the Fatal 4-Way and set up a match between “The Empress of Tomorrow” and Charlotte Flair on SmackDown Live instead.

Flair won the match, meaning she headed into WrestleMania as the SmackDown Women’s champion, while Asuka was forced to settle for a spot in the Women’s Battle Royal. In the end, the Japanese star had a strong showing in the match but she was eliminated by runner-up Sarah Logan.

Asuka fans have started an #AsukaDeservesBetter hashtag on social media following her impromptu title match, while Superstars including Rusev and Lana have described her as “the best female wrestler of all time”.

It might be a little too early for a Lynch vs. Asuka match – they only recently faced each other at the 2019 Royal Rumble – but there is nobody more deserving than the 37-year-old to take on “The Man” next.

#4 Charlotte Flair

It was announced in December 2018 that former champions in WWE will no longer receive immediate title rematches. We have seen this rule used multiple times in 2019 so far, notably when Dean Ambrose (Intercontinental Championship) and Shinsuke Nakamura (United States Championship) lost their titles in January and instantly moved away from the title picture.

While the rule has certainly helped storylines move along faster, there is an obvious flaw: what happens if a champion loses their title without getting pinned or submitted? Are they entitled to a rematch?

Yet another Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair match is unlikely to excite the majority of WWE fans – they have been feuding almost non-stop since August 2018 – but it would make sense from a storyline perspective if “The Queen” were to be granted an immediate rematch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship that Lynch essentially won from Ronda Rousey.

#3 Sarah Logan

After Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey emerged as the three elite Superstars of WWE’s women’s division over the last eight months, it seems that the company is now trying to focus on moving some of the less prominent women into featured positions on Raw and SmackDown Live.

We saw that on Monday’s episode of Raw with Lacey Evans, as well as Dana Brooke’s backstage interview, and it looks as though we could also see Sarah Logan pick up some momentum following her dominant performance in the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35.

The Riott Squad member is often overlooked compared to Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan, but her display on Sunday showed that she can be taken seriously as a singles competitor if given the opportunity.

It may come too early for Logan to be built up as a one-on-one PPV opponent for Lynch, but a challenge on Raw or SmackDown Live cannot be ruled out.

#2 Dana Brooke

Two months ago, Dana Brooke had barely featured on WWE programming in almost half a year and she was the least prominent female Superstar on Raw and SmackDown Live. The lowest point came in February when, despite WWE essentially confirming that she would face Natalya the following week on Raw, the match was cancelled and the storyline ended with no explanation.

Since then, the former Titus Worldwide member has faced Ronda Rousey in a Raw Women’s Championship match – granted, it only lasted a few seconds – while a loud “Dana Brooke! Dana Brooke!” chant broke out during the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35.

The following night on Raw, she even planted the seeds for another shot at the Raw (and SmackDown) Women’s Championships when she congratulated Becky Lynch on her title triumph and added that she will be among the queue of women waiting to challenge “The Man”.

Like Sarah Logan, a match between Lynch and Brooke would almost certainly take place on weekly television as opposed to PPV. One day, perhaps PPV could be a possibility, but Brooke has not been given enough serious storylines in recent years to be seen as a genuine threat to the Women’s Championships.

#1 Sasha Banks

The Revival’s Scott Dawson mentioned during a ‘WWE Now’ video over WrestleMania weekend that Sasha Banks & Bayley constantly tried to persuade Vince McMahon to introduce Women’s Tag Team titles throughout 2018.

Banks & Bayley went on to win the newly introduced titles at Elimination Chamber in February. However, following a successful title defence against Nia Jax & Tamina at Fastlane, their reign surprisingly ended after just 49 days when Billie Kay pinned Bayley at WrestleMania 35 to win the titles for The IIconics.

The following night, “The Boss” did not appear on Raw, while Bayley lost in less than three minutes against Alexa Bliss. Although we are yet to see The IIconics on WWE television since their title win, Monday’s storyline development seems to suggest that The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection are already moving on from the tag titles.

If that is the case, WWE will surely have something planned for one or both of them in the near future. Banks, a four-time Raw Women’s champion, has not held a singles title since August 2017, but she would still be a worthy first challenger for Becky Lynch.
