When your moniker is The Next Big Thing, you know that you are very much expected to be the main man in the WWE in the years to come. Brock Lesnar fulfilled all those expectations - but he did it his way.

He left the WWE when he wanted to try American Football, went to NJPW by breaking his noncompete clause in the company and finally became a Heavyweight World Champion in the UFC before finally returning to Vince McMahon's promotion as the highest paid part-timer in the history of the business.

He might not have enjoyed success the old-fashioned way, but there is little doubt that The Beast Incarnate lived up to the hype.
