5 WWE Superstars who don't support Donald Trump

Not everyone is a huge fan of The Donald

Donald Trump has long-standing ties with the world of professional wrestling. His business dealings with Vincent Kennedy McMahon go all the way back to the early 1980s and have only grown in the years since.

He has made multiple appearances in WWE events and been part of quite a few storylines including with the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bobby Lashley. While the now President of the United States of America can't afford to make such appearances these days, the bond with him and McMahons runs deep with Linda McMahon being considered for a cabinet position.

Despite this obviously fruitful relationship The Donald has with the WWE's owners, not all WWE Superstars feel the same way about the President. A number of them have been vocally critical of Trump for the innumerable instances, where he has said or done something highly questionable.

It is of little surprise that a company as diverse as the WWE has employees who will obviously be opposed to Trump's world views and so it has proved. As the President of the world'st most powerful nation continues to waddle about his daily business, these Superstars have made their feelings for the man very very clear.

So, without any further ado, here are 5 WWE superstars who don't support Donald Trump:

#5 Xavier Woods

Woods has found immense success with The New Day

Xavier Woods shot to fame as one-third of the uber popular WWE trio, The New Day. The longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all-time, The New Day have been the best thing about the Tag Team division in Vince McMahon’s company for almost two years now and Woods has been an integral member of the squad.

Woods also hosts a YouTube gaming channel titled Up Up Down Down under the name of Austin Creed and has found great popularity and success in having some of the top WWE Superstars come over onto the channel to play games and have a great time.

What wasn’t a great time, however, was when Woods found out about the result of the recently concluded United States presidential elections where Donald Trump won. Applying uncharacteristic subtlety, Woods summed up his feelings in this one tweet:

With Trump’s pro-white stances and anti-minorities agenda, it comes as little surprise that Woods wasn’t thrilled with the outcome of the elections. Don’t go expecting The Donald to make a guest appearance on Up Up Down Down anytime soon.

#4 Sasha Banks

The Legit Boss has been bossing the women’s title scene along with Charlotte

Next up on the list is The Legit Boss herself, Sasha Banks. Banks made an instant impact after getting signed onto NXT where she would put on some of the best women’s matches the WWE had seen in a long long time to kickstart the Women’s Revolution.

The Four Horsewomen – made up of Banks, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch – would all soon make the jump up to the main roster where Banks enjoyed a tremendous feud with Charlotte. Winning multiple Women’s Championships, The Legit Boss has established herself as one of the top female performers in the company.

All this success took a backseat, though, on the day the presidential election results came in, announcing a victory for one Mr Donald Trump. Obviously disturbed by Trump’s views on women and minorities, Banks sent out two tweets which she showed her trepidation with the new resident of the White House:

Sasha has clearly put all of her faith in the almighty to guide the world through the next four years.

#3 Kofi Kingston

Kofi enjoyed a solid single’s career before his tag team success with The New Day

Third on our list is Xavier Woods’ stable-mate from The New Day, Kofi Kingston. Kofi has enjoyed a fruitful career in the WWE, having won multiple titles as a single’s competitor in the mid-card before finding his fame in tag team wrestling with Woods and Big E.

Despite the group’s belief in the power of positivity, Kingston clearly wasn’t feeling too positive on the day Mr Trump won the US presidential elections. Concerned with the politically charged statements The Donald had made on his way to the unlikely victory, Kofi let the world know just how positive he was feeling with this tweet:

Not the outcome he had been hoping for, clearly. Hang in there, Kofi.

#2 Renee Young

Young has been the best part of Talking Smack

Our penultimate entry on the list brings us to our first non-minority WWE personality, Renee Young. Dean Ambrose’s girlfriend has experienced a steady rise in her career as one of the premier interviewers and hosts in the company’s employ.

Currently hosting Talking Smack and pushing for a role on the commentary desk, Young is clearly on the path to becoming the first true female voice of the WWE. As someone blazing trails for women in the world of pro-wrestling, it is of little surprise that Renee was not happy with the result of the elections with the accusations of misogyny levelled at Trump.

When someone championing opportunities for women, tweets something like this, you know you should pay attention:

We feel your pain, Renee.

#1 Sami Zayn

Zayn is one of the most likeable superstars on the roster

Sami Zayn has been one of the most underrated performers in the WWE since his main roster debut. Coming off a hot run as NXT Champion, Zayn hasn’t been given the push everyone feels he deserves and it is surely only a matter of time before he gets it.

What wouldn’t have helped his chances, though, is this cutting tweet The Underdog from the Underground sent out after Donald Trump won the elections:

Zayn, the son of immigrants, has been clearly disgusted with Trump’s stance on refugees and immigrants. We can only hope that his explosive opinions on Vince and Linda McMahon’s dear friend don’t affect the great work he’s been doing.
