Ever since Brock Lesnar won the WWE World title at SummerSlam 2014 after squashing John Cena, fans were clamoring for someone to step up and put The Beast down. Roman Reigns won the 2015 Royal Rumble and faced Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31. Thanks to Seth Rollins' cash-in, Reigns failed to win the title.

Three years later, Reigns met Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania again, and survived five F-5s. He fell prey to the sixth F-5 though, and lost the match.
At SummerSlam 2018, Reigns secured another opportunity at Lesnar's Universal title belt. This time, The Big Dog managed to defeat Lesnar for the first time and become Universal Champion. Reigns didn't get to hold the title for long though, as he was diagnosed with leukemia.
Reigns was scheduled to face WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at WrestleMania 36, with the latter's Universal title on the line, but The Big Dog pulled from the match recently due to safely reasons amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. This will be the first WrestleMania since Reigns' debut that he is going to miss.
