5 WWE SmackDown Superstars who need to move to RAW

Some SmackDown Superstars would fare better on Raw

Seven months on from a landscape-altering draft, the WWE is finally producing two competent live shows on a weekly basis. The monumental draft has allowed the WWE to show off the vast depths of its massively talented roster.

Superstars who we previously thought that we'd never be invested in have now stolen all of our attention and captured our hearts. Past mid-carders have now turned into main eventers because of the 5 hours of weekly programming present.

I suppose most of us could agree that SmackDown has been the more consistent of the two shows, creating new stars and building on interesting storylines every week. It's been branded as the land of opportunity but that doesn't mean that every Superstar should be allowed the privilege of performing on Tuesday nights.

Unfortunately, some Superstars haven't taken the chance they've been given. Instead, they've continued to under-deliver.

Here are 5 WWE Superstars from the SmackDown roster that need to move to RAW for various reasons.

#5 American Alpha

Sometimes wrestlers have all the talent, all the opportunities, but just limited charisma. Since their debut on SmackDown Live, American Alpha have had everything go in their favour. The favourable booking, the wins over established Superstars and the glorious title win.

Despite all this, the crowds haven't taken to them as many thought they would. Simply put, they're not over.

From my personal perspective, I think this is due to the lack of character development they've had over the past few months. Despite knowing that they both love to dig deep, we as fans know nothing about the personality of the American Alpha duo.

There's nothing to get behind or sympathise with. On SmackDown, the pair have been pushed to the top of the tag division without any back story. On RAW, this back-story could be provided thus allowing us to know who the American Alpha really are.

#4 Mojo Rawley

No offence to Mojo but I've never been a fan of his over the top antics. Ever since losing his tag team partner Zack Ryder, Rawley has been left in WWE limbo. He has no place on Tuesday nights anymore.

Simply put, he's not over enough to challenge for a solo title and is obviously ineligible for the tag team division, Rawley has no purpose on the blue brand. So now what?

To save his dwindling career Mojo must jump ship to Monday Night Raw, where he'll fit in perfectly. RAW has a whole plethora of lower-card solo competitors that all interact with each other on a weekly basis.

As a three hour show, RAW always needs lower-card members to help fill up time. That's the only advantage RAW has over SmackDown, they have more time so they can run more storylines.

In this abundance of time, Mojo Rawley could develop into a top player in the WWE.

#3 Eva Marie

When the draft split first happened, Eva Marie was literally at the forefront of the women's division. Her incredibly long and unique ring entrance was often the most talked about part of the blue brand show, both positively and negatively.

She was universally hated but always talked about. What really irked people about Eva Marie was that she was the walking embodiment of the pretty people privilege. She represents the notion that she is where she's at not because of in-ring ability and wrestling but because of her looks and marketability.

The fact that she's made it this far at all is an indictment of this theory. However, with Vince McMahon still running the company, fans fear that her growth in the company is only set to increase exponentially.

It's for this reason alone that she needs to move to Monday nights. RAW is usually the brand for all show and limited substance, Marie certainly embodies this style of booking. Eva Marie is Vince's idea of a crossover star so why shouldn't she be on his flagship show?

#2 Apollo Crews

Crews has been underutilised on SmackDown

It's safe to say that besides one match with AJ Styles, we've seen absolutely nothing from Apollo Crews since the draft. The incredible wrestler of Nigerian descent has not been allowed to showcase his true talents on Tuesday nights.

If booked right, Crews has the ability to become a main event star. The guy could sell millions of tickets worldwide if the WWE just allowed him to express himself on a nightly basis. Instead, they've provided him with limited personality and infrequent exposure.

That's why you can hear crickets chirp during his ring entrances. No one cares about him because the WWE have presented him in that way.

So what does he need? He needs a move to RAW. Apollo Crews needs to be led under the tutelage of the New Day.

Yes, I'm saying that he should be the fourth member of the New Day, not Titus O'Neil. Being surrounded by such colourful and vibrant personalities on a weekly basis would bring out the best in Crews and show us the personality that we've all been waiting to see from him.

#1 Becky Lynch

Finn Balor trained Becky to be a wrestler at the age of 15!

As the inaugural SmackDown's Women champion, Becky Lynch has done all that she can do on Tuesday nights. She's made history, but there's no need to revel in it, she must progress. Why not aim to become the first woman to win the SmackDown AND Raw Women's championships?

The Irish Lasskicker needs to go and reunite with her fellow horsewomen on Monday nights. As of late, the WWE have made us believe that only Charlotte and Sasha Banks matter in the Women's division, however, Bayley has finally dispelled that myth.

To help keep competition healthy on Monday nights, Lynch must make the move to RAW before Summerslam comes around. And then guess what could happen? A fatal 4-way for the RAW Women's championship between the original four horsewomen of NXT.

I can picture it now, a red-hot crowd completely stoked for the match with Triple H grinning his face off in the time-keeper’s area.
