Sports entertainment is basically a typical soap opera with the only difference being that wrestling shows take place in front of a live audience with a ring the middle of the arena instead of a setting such as an apartment or a restaurant. Just like on a soap opera, WWE Superstars portray fictional characters and they're usually free to beat up their enemies as they please.

This has not always ended up well though, as some wrestlers have taken things a little bit too far, which resulted in them being locked behind bars, often returning just one short week later, and somtimes just hours after the arrest in order to settle the score in the squared-circle on the same night! That's because in this sport, everything gets resolved inside a wrestling ring.

Let's take a look at five recent arrests on WWE TV.

#5 Mr. McMahon

Vince McMahon, the chairman and CEO of WWE, plays a ruthless boss and a nasty human being on TV known as Mr. McMahon. Many fans regard Mr. McMahon as the best heel in WWE history, and looking back at the things that the evil boss has done over the years, it's hard to disagree.

However, some of the chairman's bad deeds have forced him to pay the price. McMahon has been "arrested" several times, and his most recent arrest came in 2015 when he assaulted a police officer on an episode of Monday Night Raw. The boss and his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, came up with a plan to have Roman Reigns arrested, but unfortunately for them, things didn't go the way they planned.

Mr. McMahon was arrested that night, but he was released just in time to announce that he would be the special guest referee for Reigns' WWETtile match the following week on Raw.

#4 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch was arrested not once but twice this year. After winning the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match, she chose Ronda Rousey as her WrestleMania opponent. Weeks later, Mr. McMahon made a surprise appearance and suspended The Man for 60 days, announcing Charlotte Flair as her replacement.

Lynch, however, refused to let things go. She violated her suspension by showing up on the February 25th episode of Raw and attacking Natalya and Rousey. Security tried to throw her out the arena, but they were unsuccessful in doing so, resulting in officers from the Atlanta P.D. arresting her and taking her to jail.

Lynch was eventually released and defeated Charlotte Flair at Fastlane, which added her back into the Raw Women's Championship match at WrestleMania 35. However, before the event, Lynch, Rousey, and Flair were arrested at the same time during a wild brawl on Monday Night Raw. In the end, Becky pinned The Baddest Woman on the Planet in the main event of 'Mania 35 to become the Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion.

#3 Charlotte Flair

The 10-time WWE Women's Champion Charlotte Flair was involved in a feud with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey, as she took Lynch's spot in the match that was scheduled to close WrestleMania 35, before Lynch defeated her in order to get her spot back, making it a triple threat. Before the event, Flair teamed up with Rousey and Lynch to take on The Riott Squad in a six-women tag team match on Raw.

After the match, the three Superstars got into a brawl, which forced security to emerge and break up the fight, but the Superstars quickly took out all of them, resulting in a squad of police officers getting involved. All three Superstars were handcuffed and arrested, but that wasn't enough to end the brawl, as the women continued fighting while handcuffed and being restrained, even trying to break into the others' cop cars to get at their hated foes. The police were eventually able to get things under control, but it was not an easy task.

#2 Ronda Rousey

The Baddest Woman on the Planet was arrested along with Flair and Lynch before their WrestleMania match on Raw. Rousey was arrested for taking down a law enforcer when she attacked Lynch. She was the first one handcuffed and in the end, all three Superstars were taken to the back where police vehicles were waiting for them.

The brawl continued, but everything was calmed after the police cars droved off with the wrestlers in the back seat. They were all released before 'Mania 35, where they main evented the show.

In the aftermath, Rousey lost her Raw Women's Championship to Becky Lynch after being pinned by the latter. She hasn't been seen in WWE ever since.

Suffice it to say that this segment was sheer insanity. Not only were three Superstars arrested on the same night, but at the same time! And it took a whole array of security guards and police officers to restore order.

#1 Rusev

The Bulgarian Brute got arrested after he attacked Bobby Lashley in a restaurant

Four WWE Superstars were arrested this year alone (in storyline), and Rusev is the most recent one. The former United States Champion is going through a tough time at the moment. His real-life wife Lana is involved with Bobby Lashley and according to her, Rusev cheated on her first, so she decided to return the favor by going out with Lashley.

Things got heated up on the October 21st episode of Raw when Lashley took Lana to a restaurant. Rusev surprised the new couple by storming into the eatery and attacking Lashley, which resulted in the former getting arrested on the spot. When Rusev was being escorted out, Lana told Rusev to "Have fun in jail," which confirmes that he was indeed arrested.

It was one of many humiliations suffered by Rusev at the hands of Lana and Lashley, who have put him through more than a month of torment. After his release from custody, he returned to WWE and his feud with Lashley/Lana is ongoing. Hopefully the time is coming for Rusev to finally get some revenge on the new "couple" who have been making his life miserable.
