Io Shirai showed a lot of talent during this year's Mae Young Classic, and was also a part of the final of the tournament. A lot of WWE fans weren't aware of her until her name was announced for the show.
She did make it to the list of competitors for the show, and did exceptionally well. This is why she reached the pinnacle of the show. Her work made a lot of WWE Universe members fans of her work, but while there was a lot of appreciation, there isn't much we have seen of her lately.
If she makes it through the process of WWE Performance Center and NXT, then she must be given an opportunity to perform on the blue brand against the current SmackDown Live Women's Champion. This would be a good fight between two great performers, and the fans would love it.
