Maybe AJ Styles is already WWE's top guy, and Roman Reigns' monstrous push is just some kind of backstage rib gone too far, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Interestingly enough however, Styles seems to just be a shiny toy to hold fans over while they keep experimenting with Roman Reigns on Raw.
Think about it? What kind of top guy is on the B show? Isn't that like being the best of the worst? If nothing else, WWE seems to only be propping Styles up as a way to keep hardcore fans interested in the product. Unfortunately for WWE, they fail to realise that Styles would be a much better top guy than Reigns could ever be.
Not only does AJ Styles have the indy appeal that keeps even the most ardent of WWE haters watching his matches, he is also one of the company's most gifted athletes. Add to that the unique storylines the company has done with him in the last couple of years, and you start to see why Styles is a better top guy.
In the end, he's just a better representation of the WWE Universe. He's the true underdog that worked his ass off for a plethora of organisations just to one day get to WWE, and he is now living the dream. In all honesty, that's a better story than anything the company can script, and it's time they realise where Styles really belongs.
