Inoki's career is often overlooked by fans, but wrongly so. A former WWF Champion (though the reign isn't officially recognized), Inoki is a 2010 WWE Hall of Famer, and defeated Ric Flair in the most attended event in history, competing in front of over 190,000 people.
Not only a success in wrestling, but Inoki was also elected to the Japanese House of Councillors, representing his own Sports and Peace party.
Not only did he accomplish a lot as a councilor (including negotiating the release of hostages), but he serves as an MP in the Japanese Upper House to this day.
