#2 Former WWE Superstar Rene Duprée’s father Emile Duprée was a wrestler

Canadian-born WWE Superstar Rene Duprée came into the company with an interesting gimmick. He came out as a proud French Superstar who was looking to make an impact.

He joined WWE in 2002 and teamed up with Sylvain Grenier to debut on an episode of RAW as La Résistance. Apart from Grenier, Duprée also teamed up with Kenzo Suzuki in WWE and the duo won tag team titles in the company.

While Duprée had an impressive physique, he couldn’t quite make the impact that was required of him. What many fans may not know is that Duprée is a second-generation wrestler.

His father Emile Duprée competed for a few small independent promotions before he started his own promotion called Grand Prix Wrestling. Grand Prix Wrestling worked with WWE to bring some talent to the spotlight on a few occasions.

Late in 2013, Rene and Emile tried to bring Grand Prix Wrestling back to life after the promotion ended in the late 2000s.

The former WWE Superstar has said that he will likely retire from wrestling in a few years after suffering a number of concussions over the years. Rene is currently competing for Pro Wrestling Noah.
