5 WWE Superstars you won't believe beat Brock Lesnar

These Superstars all hold a win over Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is one of the dominant Superstars that we have ever seen inside a WWE ring. Since his main roster debut in 2002, Lesnar has been at the top of the card. Since his latest return to the WWE, Lesnar has been more dominant than ever before, losing only to a handful of select WWE Superstars. At the time of writing this, Brock Lesnar is a 4-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion as well as 2-time Universal Champion, the title he currently holds. Lesnar is also a former Champion in the UFC.

With Lesnar being so dominant, it's interesting to go back to the early days of his career in WWE and to look and see at some of the surprising names who actually hold a win over Brock Lesnar. Some of the names on this least did not have successful careers in WWE and fans today may have even forgotten a couple of these names.

#5. Kanyon

Chris Kanyon had a great career in WCW. He was a former WCW United States Champion and also won the WCW Tag-Team Championships once along with close friend Diamond Dallas Page.

However, Kanyon's run in WWE did not go well. He debuted during the invasion era but stared at the lights more often than not. Kanyon's WWE career was also blighted by numerous injuries before he was released in 2004.

However, one accolade he did pick up in WWE is that he has a win over Brock Lesnar. This was before Brock Lesnar's WWE television debut and he was being prepared for his move up from OVW. Lesnar faced Kanyon in a dark match on October 20th, 2001 and beat him after hitting his finisher, The Flatliner.

#4. Billy Gunn

Billy Gunn has had a very successful career by any one's standards despite never being one of the top guys on the WWE card. As one half of the New Age Outlaws, he found success after his initial run as one of the Smoking Gunns and then Rockabilly.

As part of DX, Gunn became a household name along with the rest of the group during the famed Attitude Era. Although Gunn is a former King of the Ring winner and destined for a run at the top, one promo from The Rock seemingly hurt his career so badly that a run as a top guy was never a possibility again.

Despite this, he's a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and has won the tag-team Championships a staggering 11 times.

Billy Gunn beat Brock Lesnar twice in two consecutive nights in October 2001. The first night was in a dark match before WWE Jakked. He beat Lesnar again in a dark match before WWE Heat,

#3. Rico

Before his debut on the main roster as Billy and Chuck's eccentric stylist, Rico was considered a prodigy in developmental despite his age. Rico only started training to be a wrestler in his late 30's and was spotted by WWE officials in 1999 and signed to a deal. He won a number of titles in developmental and later moved to the main roster in 2002.

Rico did find success in the WWE, winning the WWE Tag-Team Championships twice. He was unexpectedly released from his WWE contract in 2004.

Another highlight the Rico can look back on is that he was a win over none other than 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar. In 2001, when they were both still in OVW, Rico beat Brock Lesnar in a dark match ahead of television tapings. Footage of this match hasn't surfaced but can check out this other dark match between them:

#2. Bill DeMott

Even I couldn't believe this one when I read about it. If you don't know Bill DeMott, he started off in WCW and wrestled under the name Hugh Morris and Hugh G Rection (a terrible pun). He found moderate success in WCW, winning the WCW United States Championship twice. He was signed by WWE as part of their deal to buy WCW along with a host of other wrestlers.

DeMott didn't do much in WWE as a wrestler and later became a trainer. He was fired in 2015 after multiple allegations of abuse and misconduct by former trainees.

During his time as a wrestler, DeMott's biggest accolade has to be beating a young Brock Lesnar. Before Lesnar's main roster debut, he wrestled Bill DeMott twice in dark matches in January 2002. On both occasions, the former 'laughing Man" beat the future WWE and UFC Champion.

#1. Brian Kendrick aka Spanky

Brian Kendrick has had multiple successful runs in WWE and is currently signed to the company as part of the 205 Live roster. He initially made his WWE debut in 2003 and Velocity before moving to SmackDown. After his second return to WWE in 2005, he found success as a tag-team with Paul London, winning the Tag-Team Championships twice. He then had a pretty good singles run as "The Brian Kendrick".

He was released in 2009 before returning as a trainer in NXT in 2014 and then inside the ring in 2016 during the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. Kendrick has been on 205 Live since then and is a former Cruiserweight Champion.

During his first run in WWE, Kendrick was still wrestling under the name Spanky when he faced Brock Lesnar in the August 12th, 2003 episode of SmackDown. Needless to say, Brock brutalized Kendrick, hitting him with a nasty steel chair shot to the head. Kendrick eventually won the match by DQ and technically has a win over Brock Lesnar.
