WWE TLC 2017: 5 potential finishes for Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore

E
Enzo Amore is looking to become a two-time champion

Whether you love or hate Enzo Amore, you can’t deny that the cruiserweight division feels more important than ever heading into the TLC pay-per-view.

The trash-talking former champ has run his mouth so much over the last couple of months that he and his fellow cruiserweights simply cannot be ignored, and the battle for the Cruiserweight Championship has been one of the featured storylines on Raw in recent weeks.

The division has taken on so much importance that it has closed the third hour of Raw three times since the No Mercy PPV, where Enzo produced a huge upset by defeating Neville for the title. Since then, "The King of the Cruiserweights" has reportedly quit while Kalisto has joined the division and quickly become champion.

Will Kalisto’s reign continue after TLC? Or will Enzo defy the doubters again to win the title for the second time? In this article, we look at five possible finishes to their match at the upcoming PPV.

#1 The return of Neville

Neville
Neville is said to have quit WWE

On October 9, Neville reportedly walked out on WWE after being booked to lose to Enzo in a non-title match on Raw. Rumour has it that Vince McMahon made the decision to drastically alter plans for the cruiserweight division that night by having Kalisto beat Amore for the title.

WWE hasn’t officially confirmed that Neville has left the company, but if Enzo’s promo at a live event in Canada last week is anything to go by, it’s safe to assume he’s gone. Addressing Kalisto, Enzo said: “I took care of Cass, then made Neville quit. You're nothing.”

But did he really make Neville quit? Or will we see the Newcastle-born high-flyer exact his revenge on Enzo at TLC? WWE being WWE, you just never know. But if Neville comes back to cost Enzo the title, his return will get one of the biggest cheers of the night.

The return of the 2-time NXT Tag Team Champion is exactly what the fans want.

#2 Kalisto retains with a clean victory

Kalisto won the title from Enzo on October 9

It sounds simple, but why not? For all the hope that Neville returns, perhaps we’ll see a standard match between these two at TLC. Enzo can put up a good fight before Kalisto gets the victory with a Salida del Sol from the top rope, just like he did to win the Cruiserweight Championship on Raw.

The title was held by Neville for 197 days from January to August but it has now changed hands four times in two months. The more title changes, the less meaningful the title becomes, and yet another change at TLC would only lower the title’s status.

Kalisto is one of the most exciting performers in WWE right now and a clean win over Enzo, with no interference from any members of the 205 Live roster, would be a good way to kick-start a deserved run with the title.

#3 Cruiserweight division causes a DQ

Enzo has found himself some allies

Survivor Series is just around the corner and, if current storytelling is anything to go by, we could see a traditional elimination match between members of the cruiserweight division.

Despite Enzo calling his fellow cruiserweights every name under the sun over the last few weeks, he found himself an unlikely team of allies in Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Noam Dar this past week on Raw.

It would not be a surprise to see these guys get involved at TLC and, along with the babyfaces of the 205 Live roster, cause a disqualification that leads to a 5-on-5 match at Survivor Series.

#4 Enzo wins… a ladder match!

Enzo and Ka
Enzo and Kalisto have both competed in ladder matches

Notice how the Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV only has one match involving tables, ladders and chairs? It’s a little strange how WWE is yet to add stipulations to the other six matches on the card, so perhaps general manager Kurt Angle will announce on the PPV kickoff show that this will have a stipulation.

Kalisto was involved in one of the best ladder matches in recent years when he teamed with Sin Cara in a Triple Threat for the tag titles at TLC 2015, while Enzo and Big Cass were one of four teams in the ladder match for the Raw tag titles at WrestleMania 33.

If a ladder stipulation, or any kind of no disqualification stipulation, gets added, then interference from Enzo’s new allies would surely cost Kalisto, allowing “Smacktalker Skywalker” to reclaim the title.

#5 Hideo Itami joins the cruiserweight division

H
Hideo was signed by WWE in July 2014

At 180lbs, Hideo Itami is the best cruiserweight talent WWE has in their ranks. So, why not use him in the cruiserweight division? Granted, it’s unlikely, but it would be nice to see Hideo finally given a chance on the main roster, and if that means working his way through 205 Live first to get to the top, then so be it.

The Japanese Superstar is still working live events with NXT but was not used in any matches during their last set of TV tapings. If he’s not needed in NXT, where he has been for over three years, then an appearance from Hideo at TLC would be perfect for the cruiserweight division.

Imagine a situation where Kalisto defeats Enzo and is celebrating post-match when, all of a sudden, a man dressed in all black, with his hood covering his face, appears. Kalisto lifts up the hood and Hideo is revealed. Of course, a GTS would have to follow, and Hideo is officially a member of the 205 Live roster. Sound good?
