Wendi Richter was on an incredible run in the mid-1980 WWE scene. She was one of the main characters involved in the 'Rock n Wrestling Connection' and was the Women's Champion.

However, Vince McMahon and Richter could not agree on the terms for a new contract. McMahon booked a Women's title match between Richter and a masked opponent named The Spider Lady at Madison Square Garden. During the match, The Spider Lady went for a cover and the referee counted to three even though Richter had kicked out an one.

Richter -- who was told that she would be retaining the belt -- was livid and continued to attack her opponent and unmasked her, who happened to be The Fabulous Moolah. The entire plan was concocted by Vince McMahon and this has come to be known as the original Screwjob.

Moolah never wrestled as the Spider Lady again, reverting to her usual ring attire. Richter walked out of the WWE, eventually returning in 2010 to accept a Hall of Fame induction.
