There are a number of women who could step up to the men in WWE

The women of WWE have been fighting for equality over the past few years and finally they have been handed their first ever solo pay-per-view as well as being given the opportunity to compete in historic matches. The upcoming TLC match proves that these women are prepared to make history at all costs, and over the past few months, they have shown that they have what it takes to step in the ring with some of the biggest male superstars in the company if given the chance.

The women are currently pushing towards Women's Tag Team Championships but if there was ever a time when the company decided to bring back inter-gender matches then there are many stars that they could call upon.

#5 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch just needs the opportunity to prove she is The Man

Becky Lynch is no stranger to inter-gender matches since the Irish Lasskicker was at the forefront of her own feud with James Ellsworth a few months ago. Lynch was able to defeat the chin-less star in their one-on-one encounter, which shows that she's able to hold her own in a match against a member of the opposite sex.

Lynch was also at the forefront of the Raw invasion earlier this year where she was sucker punched by Nia Jax and was still able to get back to her feet and remember the spots that she needed to deliver to Ronda Rousey. Lynch calls herself "The Man" a moniker that belongs to Seth Rollins, but the former World Champion has already pointed out that in order for Lynch to be called "The Man", she has to defeat him, so this could be an inter-gender match in the making.

#4 Asuka

Asuka was undefeated throughout her time in NXT and came up to the main roster as one of the hottest prospects in the company. The Japanese star is said to have some of the hardest hitting moves in the WWE and judging by her encounters with James Ellsworth, Asuka would have no problem handing her own in a match against a male superstar.

There was once a time when inter-gender matches were the norm and the women of WWE like Trish Stratus and Lita were able to fight Chris Jericho and Christian in a straight up tag team match, but this isn't the kind of thing that the company likes to promote anymore, which is why Asuka has only been able to test her mettle against someone like James Ellsworth in recent years, but it's pretty clear that she's able to do much more.

#3 Charlotte

Charlotte Flair has won every Championship available to the women of WWE over the past few years, which is why she is seen as the future of the company. Flair has dominated on all three WWE brands and has had stand out feuds with some of the biggest stars, which is why fighting a man would be easy for the former Women's Champion.

Charlotte has been inside Hell in a Cell, she's about to step into the first ever women's TLC match and she's the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, which means that she definitely isn't someone who should be underestimated. Flair is widely regarded as one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time and it's easy to see why given the incredible list of accolades that she has achieved in just three years.

#2 Candice LeRae

Candice LeRae hasn't fully been given the chance to shine in WWE just yet after being brought into the company at the height of her husband's feud with Tommaso Ciampa. LeRae made quite the reputation for herself on the Independent Circuit when she became the queen of the inter-gender match and would often tag alongside Joey Ryan and has been part of many memorable matches against her own husband.

LeRae has also battled a number of current WWE stars, including Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, who know just how dominant the former Champion can be in the ring. It was thought that when WWE finally signed Mrs. Gargano to a WWE contract, she would be able to push for the return of inter-gender wrestling, something that is still yet to happen. Hopefully, this will change in the coming years.

#1 Ronda Rousey

There is a reason why WWE thinks so highly of Ronda Rousey, she proved throughout her UFC career that she belongs in the spotlight and that she knows how to land a punch, so it would be stupid of WWE not to capitalize on this.

Back at WrestleMania, Rousey manhandled Triple H throughout their tag team match and it appears that The Game was into this throughout since he wanted to put the Raw Women's Champion over as a legitimate beast. At some point, Rousey will run out of challengers in the Women's Division and she will be forced to step outside and take the fight to the men in the company as well. This will definitely be interesting since Rousey is legitimately equipped to battle with more than half of the men who currently populate Raw.
