#2 Rey Mysterio gets squashed

Six days before his United States Championship match against Samoa Joe at WrestleMania 35, Rey Mysterio was originally supposed to face Kurt Angle on the go-home episode of Monday Night Raw.

However, due to a last-minute change of plan, he took on Baron Corbin in the main event instead, and not only did the former WWE champion lose the match, but he suffered an ankle injury which put his WrestleMania status in doubt in the days leading up to the event.

Both WWE and Mysterio clearly wanted the match to go ahead, but it was obvious right from the start that he was not at 100 per cent. The match still happened, with Mysterio hitting a very early 619 before Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch to make his opponent pass out after just 60 seconds.

Given the circumstances, props to Mysterio for even participating on the show. But, given the deflating finish to the match, perhaps it would have been better if he had not competed at all.
