6 Amazing Swerves WWE could surprise us with at WrestleMania

Will we all look like this guy after WrestleMania?
Will we all look like this guy after WrestleMania?

The road to WrestleMania has had its fair share of surprises to lead us to the sixteen match card we have now. The WWE have deliberately put in as many twists and turns as they could manage to build as much hype towards this year's 'Grandest Stage of Them All' in New York City as possible.

Take the main event for example. WWE removed Becky Lynch and added Charlotte to the match, then re-added Becky Lynch to the match, then had Charlotte win the SmackDown Women's Title and then made the match for BOTH the Raw and SmackDown Women's Title. That's a lot of twists and turns and that's just one match.

But if there's one thing we know about WrestleMania it's that the surprises, twists and swerves aren't just reserved for the build-up, we've had our fair share of swerves on the show itself.

So let's look at amazing swerves that we could see at WrestleMania 35

#6. Dean Ambrose to announce he's staying with WWE

Dean Ambrose staying with WWE would swerve us all!

The question of whether or not Dean Ambrose's departure from the WWE is a work or not remains largely unanswered, and will likely remain that way until he either actually leaves or the rug is pulled out from under all of is and an announcement is made that he's staying.

With Ambrose not competing at WrestleMania but his Shield teammates Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in matches, there's a chance that the events of the night could convince Ambrose to renege on his decision not to renew his contract, leading to a truly emotional and official Shield reunion.

#5. Lars Sullivan to finally debut

Will Lars Sullivan appear?
Will Lars Sullivan appear?

Once upon a time, it was rumored that 'The Freak' Lars Sullivan was going to take on John Cena at this year's WrestleMania and then Sullivan's main roster debut got pushed back, and pushed back and then it simply didn't happen with the Superstar allegedly taking time off after suffering a panic attack.

Now that WrestleMania is finally here there's a small amount of buzz being drummed up again that WWE are going to pull the trigger on NXT's big man and have him make his presence felt on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All'.

Whether Sullivan finds himself wrestling in an impromptu match against John Cena or someone else, or if he just runs in and attacks someone, an appearance from him would be a genuine surprise for the WWE Universe.

#4.The New Day Heel Turn

I don't for a second want or think that Kofi Kingston won't win the WWE Title as I think it'll be too great a moment to pass up. However, if WWE did make the decision to keep the title on Daniel Bryan, what would be the worst way they could do it?

Well, the worst way I can think of is to have Xavier Woods and Big E, who have been completely supportive of Kofi Kingston's attempts to become a world champion cost him the match, either deliberately or otherwise.

Obviously if one of Big E or Xavier Woods, or both of them were to turn heel it would be one of the most shocking and unexpected betrayals in WWE history and would undoubtedly leave the WWE Universe quiet and seething. It's unlikely, but maybe it will happen!

#3. Unannounced John Cena or Undertaker match

Will John Cena and Undertaker make a surprise appearance at WrestleMania?

We are facing the prospect of a WrestleMania without either John Cena or Undertaker wrestling in a match. I can't remember the last WrestleMania that happened without featuring either Superstar, but at the moment the sixteen match card doesn't feature them.

Now there are obviously rumors that both Superstars will actually be doing something at this year's show, perhaps they'll be challenging Kurt Angle after his match with Baron Corbin. Perhaps they'll interrupt an Elias performance, perhaps they'll wrestle each other again.

Either way, despite being slightly expected, an actual match on this year's 'Mania card from John Cena or Undertaker would be a surprise that people wouldn't have thought would happen, especially given the number of matches on the card already.

#2. The Losing Streak ends

Asuka's streak is over, Pete Dunne's lengthy title run is over, The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak is over. Only one record remains in the WWE - Curt Hawkins' incredible two-year-plus losing streak.

But all that could change when he and Zack Ryder, a reunited Major Brothers, take on a Revival for the Raw Tag Team Titles in a match that was largely thrown together last minute (people expected Chad Gable and Bobby Roode or Aleister Black and Ricochet as the tag-team champ's opponents)

But what a moment that would be, Ryder and Hawkins, two long-standing and tenured members of the WWE roster, like Kofi Kingston, getting credit where it's due and rewarded for their service with an undefeated streak ending title win on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All'.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to be added to SmackDown Tag-Team Match

#1. Ronda Rousey wins both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Title

Becky Lynch is the obvious winner of the first ever women's match to main event WWE's WrestleMania. But now there are rumors that Charlotte could be the one to claim both main roster women's titles instead.

There's a third option that people aren't talking about. Largely because it has been reported that Ronda Rousey is taking a break from WWE after WrestleMania, so no-one really expects her to be the one to win.

But what if 'The Baddest Woman on the Planet' surprises everyone by cementing her legacy as a WWE performer by becoming the first ever undisputed women's champion and leaving Lynch and Flair in her dust. It would be a monumental surprise!
