Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn remain among the company's most entertaining acts, and the prospect of them freebirding the WWE Championship is interesting. It would be something new, at least.

But the timing is off. AJ Styles is SmackDown's franchise player and absolutely should be the one leading the blue brand into WrestleMania, where a plethora of exciting matches potentially awaits him.

After the year in the mud it had, it's what the WWE Championship needs, too. There's no better champion to ensure an exciting title match to make up for the terrible one we saw in Orlando last year.
