Hangman Page
The whole lead up to Double or Nothing was strange for Hangman Page. First, he was supposed to battle PAC but that was removed from the PPV itself. Instead, they faced off last week, and Page instead entered and won the Casino Battle Royale. Due to his win, he will face Chris Jericho at a later date for the right to become the inaugural AEW Heavyweight Champion.
While that's perfectly fine, Page is someone that isn't a big a star as Jon Moxley. Even though he was unhappy at times in WWE, the company made him a huge star. And as we've seen before in TNA/Impact and Ring of Honor, even lower card WWE stars are bigger deals in smaller companies. The former Dean Ambrose was one of the top Superstars in the WWE.
A feud with Moxley and a potential triumph in that feud would help propel Page into Superstardom due to Moxley's status in the industry. Hangman has always needed an opportunity to 'run with the ball' in order to be considered a huge star in the industry, and with his spot in the Elite and AEW, it appears he will get that chance. A big test of his main-event worthiness would be tangling with Moxley.
