6 reasons Why Brock Lesnar is the most overrated WWE Superstar currently

The current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, has been built up as a Beast. Since breaking 'the streak', he has dominated all of his feuds and now has spent almost a year as the Champion of the red brand. But look a little deeper and you will realise that 'the Beast Incarnate' is currently the most overrated star in the WWE Universe.

#6 Part Timer Champion

If you recall, Naomi was forced to relinquish her Women's title as she could not defend it once in thirty days. This rule however has been flouted quite openly in case of Lesnar. Gone are the days where the champion defended his championship in all the PPVs. Lesnar has the luxury of showing up at select PPVs, resulting in the most prestigious title of the brand, being off TV for most of the duration.

#5 Zero Mic Skills

When was the last time you saw Brock Lesnar cut a promo by himself? Exactly. If it weren't for the mic skills of Paul Heyman, Brock would have struggled to be 'the Beast' he is built up to be. There are much better talkers on the mic who would have run circles around Lesnar if it weren't for Paul Heyman.

#4 Inability to perform in long matches

Another Short Match

Since breaking the streak in a 25 minute-long match, Lesnar has never crossed the 20 minute mark in a one-on-one match. The two matches which crossed the 20 minute duration are the Triple threat with Cena and Rollins at Royal Rumble, where Lesnar stayed on the floor for a sizeable part of the match, after being put through a table by Rollins, only to come back during the fag end of the match to win it. The other match crossing 20 minute limit was the fatal-four-way at Summerslam 2017, where Lesnar was carried to the back on a stretcher, after being on the receiving end of Strowmans Powerslam, again to return a while later to win the match.

If we were to compare the champions of the respective brands, since his debut, the average duration of AJ Styles' PPV matches ( not including tag team matches) is around 21 minutes, while the average duration of Lesnar's matches, during the same period, is just over 10 minutes.

#3 Limited move set

Yet Another German Suplex.

Since the phrase " Suplex City" caught on like wildfire, Lesnar has limited his moves to mostly German Suplexes and F5s. Although the " Suplex City" gimmick has wide options for him to hit the many variations of Belly to Belly, Belly to Back and Vertical suplexes, Brock seems to have chosen the German suplex as his go to variant. Like a kid who learns the combination to hit one move in a video game and keeps spamming it, Brock Lesnar's move set has become a tad predictable.

#2 Ultra Protected Finisher

Brock Lesnar's F5 has been the most protected finisher in WWE in recent times. Even 'the Monster Amongst Men' Braun Strowman succumbed to a 3 count after being at the receiving end of just one F5. The only person to kick out of the F5 in recent times was 'the Big Dog' Roman Reigns.

#1 All for Roman?

Reigns Vs Lesnar
Reigns Vs Lesnar

All the build up of Brock as an unconquerable beast seems to be heading into a match with Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 34. With all the effort of WWE to make Roman look strong, a most predictable storyline is set to climax in another few months. Roman Reigns' coronation as the Universal Champion is expected to happen on April 8th in New Orleans. 'The Beast' is set to be slayed. The greatest curveball that WWE can throw at the smark wrestling community is to have Lesnar drop the title to either Strowman or Kane at the Royal Rumble. But I wouldn't bet on it.
