There are many superstars in the WWE that are clearly in the correct direction, however, there some others that could certainly do with some changes to their characters and alignments.

Most of the time, turning a superstar heel or face doesn't mean anything unless the booking afterwards is done efficiently.

When you look at the potential with the stacked rosters that both Raw and SmackDown Live have, the possibilities are clearly endless. You even have some tweener superstars, but sometimes, the good person against the bad person is the best way to go to get the most out of a certain feud.

So here is a list of 6 WWE Superstars who could do with a face turn.

#6 The Ascension

The Ascension has been floundering on the main roster.
The Ascension has been floundering on the main roster.

Konnor and Victor are a huge example of a tag team that should've been booked strongly throughout their entire WWE career. But unfortunately, WWE dropped the ball on them for unknown reasons. When they were developing in NXT, they were completely unstoppable to the point where they are still the longest reigning NXT Tag Team Champions to this day.

However, when they debuted in the WWE, things started off very strong for them. They were defeating popular teams like New Age Outlaws, but it was clear that WWE was trying too hard to push The Ascension as the next Legion of Doom with the face paint and the attire that was clearly too over the top.

They really should've have been rising, but instead, they've fallen. The last time that they were finding their stride was when they were in Smackdown Live, during The Fashion Files segment with Breezango which was really surprising considering the fact that they are meant to have serious gimmicks.

The Ascension managed to showcase their personalities, and they came across as likeable whenever they were with Breezango. So maybe a comedy route would be best for The Ascension? It could be the perfect way to get them over, and it would make a change from all the other monster tag teams such as Bludgeon Brothers, Sanity and AOP.

#5 Shelton Benjamin

Benjamin could benefit from a change of alignment.
Benjamin could benefit from a change of alignment.

Ever since Benjamin made his return to Smackdown Live, we've seen him involved in a tag team with Chad Gable. But when Gable got drafted to Raw during the Superstar Shake-Up, his tag team with Gable was split up as Benjamin is now in the midst of his singles run so far. However, he doesn't seem to be doing anything special.

It's clear that he's being used to put over other talents which is understandable. At the age of 41, that's the best role for Benjamin as there are so many superstars who could benefit from beating him. But if he is going to continue putting other superstars over, maybe Benjamin would benefit from being a face instead of a heel?

The truth is, the babyfaces on the Smackdown Live roster don't actually seem to gain anything from beating Benjamin. The Gold Standard is still capable of putting on good matches, so he could be the experienced veteran that other heels such as Andrade 'Cien' Almas love to target.

He could also be a good option to put into the United States Championship picture whenever needed to put a heel superstar over or to just fill up the numbers in the multi-man matches. Giving Benjamin back his old theme song "Ain't No Stopping Me Now" would be another good decision as the wrestling world has been clamouring for that song ever since he made his return.

#4 Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Owens and Zayn would make a great tag team as faces.
Owens and Zayn would make a great tag team as faces.

The truth is, we've already witnessed a Kevin Owens face turn on the October 8th, 2018 episode of Raw after Lashley brutally attacked Owens to create an injury angle, as Owens needed surgery in real life for his knee. However, it's unknown whether WWE will go through with the babyface turn.

For all we know, they could still bring him back as a heel and have him forget about Lashley's attack. However, the best direction to go would be to have Owens and Zayn both return at the same time to target Lashley and Rush. Let's not forget that Zayn is also recovering from surgery after an injury, and his last match was against Lashley as well at Money in the Bank 2018.

Despite the fact that there are still so many possibilities for a heel Sami Zayn, having him return by his best friend's side to take out the men that had injured both of them makes perfect sense. We've also seen Owens win all the singles titles in the WWE as a heel, so a face turn would be refreshing for his character.

Zayn has proven to be an effective face in the past, as he has been a babyface for the majority of his wrestling career. You could even have Owens and Zayn compete in the tag team division together, and they would make definitely make brilliant rivals for heel teams like Authors of Pain and The Revival.

#3 Samoa Joe

Could Joe make a great babyface?
Could Joe make a great babyface?

The Samoan Submission Machine should already be winning multiple championships in the WWE, but on the main roster, he has yet to win a single title. Joe has lost multiple world title feuds to the point where it's getting ridiculous. Every single time that Joe has looked super hot, WWE has never pulled the trigger on a push.

Despite the fact that his character is good for a heel, the fans always want to cheer him. They even chant "JOE!" repeatedly whenever he comes out. Joe still puts on fantastic matches as he hasn't lost a step despite getting older. We've seen Joe play the tweener role before in past companies which shows that he can be diverse.

And it doesn't seem like he's going to win any titles as a heel, so maybe a face turn could be the change that Joe needs?

Joe has had matches with most of the babyfaces superstars on the Smackdown roster. We have seen him perform as a heel for years now, so imagine if Joe turned face to go up against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship? Apart from the minor encounters that Joe and Bryan have had, we've yet to see them both have an official one on one match in a WWE ring.

Sure, The Destroyer might not be in his prime like he was back in TNA and ROH, but there is still so much left in the tank. He is still speedy and agile considering the fact that he is huge, and there is still a lot that can be done with Samoa Joe.

#2 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss is a 5 time Women's Champion.
Alexa Bliss is a 5 time Women's Champion.

Little Miss Bliss is an example of somebody who is an excellent heel. She won the 2018 women's Money in the Bank briefcase and she is also a former 5-time Women's Champion in the WWE which proves how successful she has been. Bliss is currently out of action, but it's good that WWE is still finding stuff for her to do. But during her latest title run, before she dropped the Raw Women's Championship to Ronda Rousey at Summerslam, it was clear that nobody was looking forward to another title run because they were bored of seeing Bliss as a heel champion again.

She dominated the Smackdown Women's division in 2017, so it's no surprise that she was getting stale despite receiving reactions everytime she appeared in the ring for a segment. Bliss is the perfect heel, but she could also be the perfect babyface as she battled an eating disorder whilst growing up. The fact that Bliss was able to conquer anorexia from a young age is inspiring, and she could be a great inspiration for young female fans that also watch wrestling. As a heel, Bliss has beaten everybody in her way. A face turn could be the best way to change Five Feet of Fury up, as it opens the door for new challenges that she hasn't faced before.

#1 Shinsuke Nakamura

The Artist would be the greatest option to turn face.
The Artist would be the greatest option to turn face.

Shinsuke Nakamura is another case of a superstar who used to have so much credibility before it was all lost due to his losses. As a babyface, Nakamura was clearly thriving as he was getting solid reactions from the crowd. A heel turn against AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 34 was clearly done so Nakamura could develop a character.

There's no denying that Nakamura has improved as he is getting more comfortable on the mic, but the fans do not seem very interesting during his segments. He doesn't have the same spark as a heel that he used to have as a face. That being said, he really could've been a successful heel if he had taken the WWE Championship away from AJ Styles.

But at the moment, after losing the US Championship to Rusev, it seems as if WWE is going in the direction of having a rematch between Rusev and Nakamura which does indeed make sense. It's unlikely that Nakamura will regain his title as Rusev only won it on the Christmas edition of Smackdown in 2018.

However, after that rivalry is finished, what will be next for Nakamura? He doesn't seem to have a lot to do as a heel, so maybe a turn back to the good side would be beneficial for him? The Artist could keep his cocky character whilst feuding with heels like Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton.

Even as a heel, Nakamura has come across as a likeable character during segments with his funny "Me no speak English" moments that made the WWE Universe burst into laughter. This is the kind of cockiness that we must see from Nakamura as a face. There clearly isn't a better option for a babyface turn that The King of Strong Style himself.
