The first spell of EC3 with WWE was forgettable. He failed to make a huge impact in the promotion but then he found his rhythm in Impact Wrestling. The current version of EC3 has a lot to offer as he improved leaps and bounds during his time outside WWE.
With his Impact Wrestling contract set to expire in early 2018, it might be the right time for WWE to pounce on the opportunity and get EC3 back on board.
While a direct entry into the main roster seems unlikely, EC3 can still make it big in NXT just like Drew McIntyre. If he does sign with WWE and goes on to become a huge star, it would be poetic justice considering how bad his initial run was.
