Lio Rush had a terrible night at the Elimination Chamber.

The fact that Finn Balor won the IC Championship against the odds that he did was a great piece of booking from WWE, as it finally exposed the purpose of Lio Rush being involved in this match.

As so many theories were created by critics and fans on why is Lio in this match, is he there to upstage Lashley, is his inclusion to make this a handicap match due to WWE wanted to book a big return, or is it to screw Balor out of a title shot so he could receive one at Wrestlemania?

Well, it was none of those things, as Rush was in this match to eat the pinfall and to get destroyed by Lashley after the match. It was shocking scenes when Lashley destroyed his former hype thrillingly after Rush's cockiness, and overconfidence had annoyed Lashley the entire match.

Not only was this a shocking moment, it felt organic as we saw Lashley's rage build up the entire match, but if this means that WWE is going to split up this duo then that is a mistake itself, but this was a shocking moment nonetheless.
