7 WWE Superstars who deserve to win the Royal Rumble....but won't

WWE returns to the City of Brotherly Love for the 2018 Royal Rumble in Philly!

The Royal Rumble is one of the top pay-per-views of the year. For decades now, The Rumble has been regarded as one of the mighty "Big Four" pay-per-view events each year. The road to Wrestlemania begins with the Royal Rumble as the winner of the main event Rumble match punches their ticket to main event Wrestlemania. But what makes this year's event even more special, is the fact that the ladies of WWE get in on the action with their own Royal Rumble match as well.

With there being so much uncertainty and unpredictability at hand, it is hard to pick a winner that makes sense. With that said, the field is indeed wide open. Even with the match's outcome being as sure as a coin-flip, there are some guys on the roster who deserve a win. That's the purpose of this article, to give you my 7 potential winners that probably won't win the match. Here's our 7 WWE Superstars who deserve to win the 2018 Royal Rumble...but probably won't.

#7 Drew McIntyre

Will The Chosen One receive another chance?

Drew McIntyre used his time away from the WWE to hone his skills in order to get to a level which would one day gain the attention of WWE officials for a prospective return to the company. Instead of tucking his tail and running from his flaws, Drew faced his issues head-on, took advantage of this unique opportunity and reinvented himself and ran with his new found path to superstardom.

It didn't take long for WWE officials to take notice of exactly what they let slip away. Drew had excelled everywhere he landed until he was finally called home.

Drew now looks better than he has ever looked and is performing at an elite level that fans are not used to seeing out of the Scottish Superstar. It's now only a matter of time until we see Drew back on the main roster, but this time we will probably see him in a better booking situation than the 3MB run we were used to seeing.

If WWE's creative powers-that-be are serious about Drew McIntyre's future, a Rumble win would be a great start to fulfilling the role as the "Chosen One."

#6 Jinder Mahal

The Modern Day Maharaja!

2017 will forever be the year of The Modern Day Maharaja. Jinder Mahal rose from virtual obscurity, to become WWE Champion. After years of being mocked and ridiculed, Jinder finally claimed his seat at the head of the table as WWE's top guy, the WWE Champion.

Jinder Mahal is a self-made WWE Superstar. No one could've ever predicted the type of year he would have. However, despite the massive success Jinder enjoyed, he still has his critics who continue to doubt his legitimacy as a top-tier star.

Moving forward as a former WWE Champion, Jinder needs to start the New Year off with a bang if he intends on piggy-backing off of his 2017 accolades. Can he duplicate this past year? If so, he would surely benefit from being the last man standing in January's Royal Rumble match.

#5 Bobby Roode

A GLORIOUS New Year awaits!

Bobby Roode may very well be one of the best signings in recent memory. While he comes to the company as a seasoned veteran, he has shown the world that he has plenty of fuel left in the tank to carry him along.

Bobby Roode has been a champion and a proven winner everywhere he has competed. It seems that his current WWE run has been somewhat different than what familiar fans are used to. It appears Bobby has reinvented himself once again and is primed for a brand new beginning.

I'm sure that Roode will not be one of the favourites entering the 2018 Royal Rumble match, but there are others who should feel threatened by his presence at least. Bobby Roode is a very wise veteran and his brains could help him manipulate his way to a win.

#4 Tyler Breeze

There is a wealth of potential behind that selfie-stick!

If you are one of my regular readers, chances are you have seen me write of my staunch support of Tyler Breeze.

When Breeze made his jump to the main roster, I couldn't be happier for a young up-and-coming superstar. Witnessing his success in NXT, with his unorthodox style was something very entertaining to be a part of. Unfortunately, someone along the way decided to railroad Prince Pretty and when it was all said and done, the former NXT title contender was wearing a mock police uniform, chasing The Ascension around backstage for fashion infractions. Let that sink in for a minute.

Tyler Breeze is not alone in this booking nightmare. Fandango is also someone who has much more to offer than the nonsense they are relegated to at the moment. But all could be forgiven by those of us who truly know what Breeze can do if given the opportunity to prove himself. Just give the guy a break! A win at The Rumble may not be the likely scenario, but it would certainly turn a lot of heads and could be the shock the company needs to shake things up.

#3 Tye Dillinger

What a PERFECT way to kickoff 2018!

Tye Dillinger has the advantage of having the fans behind him, a luxury which most NXT call-ups do not enjoy immediately. For whatever reason, Tye just has that gift of being well liked by everyone around him. With this in mind, Tye is also at a very pivotal point in his career. He did not make it to the main roster until he was already n his mid-30's, so the clock was ticking immediately upon arrival.

If WWE officials plan on making moves with Tye Dillinger, the time is now and the trigger should be pulled sooner than later! With Tye already having the support of the WWE fanbase, a surprise win at The Rumble could be the catalyst in which Tye needs to propel his career into the fast lane towards success. But, is there enough backstage support?

#2 The Miz

Awesome, indeed.

When The Miz made his WWE debut back in 2006, most fans rolled their eyes at the thought of an MTV reality television star coming to the WWE. However, The Miz had the heart to not only put himself out there but prove to the world that he was much more than a Real World cast member.

The Miz has had a roller coaster ride type of career. Winning the WWE Championship in 2010 came as a curse to The Miz. As crazy as that may sound, it was true because The Miz just was not ready for the weight of that title. After losing the title, The Miz went back into a highly unpredictable ride once again. Fortunately for him, he has finally gotten all of the issues worked out in recent years and has honestly become one of the top WWE Superstars on the entire main roster.

Having The Miz win the Rumble would not only be the safest move but probably the smartest. Miz main-eventing Wrestlemania would be the perfect way to kickoff a great 2018!

#1 Bray Wyatt

En
Once upon a time, he had the whole world in his hands...

His name is Windham Lawrence Rotunda. He is a third-generation product of wrestling royalty. His immediate family includes legendary names such as Barry Windham, Mike Rotunda (I.R.S.) and of course the late, legendary Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan.

Windham got his initial main roster break as Husky Harris, a laughing stock of The Nexus. After being sent back to the proverbial drawing board, Bray Wyatt was born and while I could spend the next 4 paragraphs giving you a Wyatt Family history lesson, I'll just assume you were around for the past 5 years and you are well aware of what Bray Wyatt has to offer.

For whatever reason, the rug was pulled out from under Bray's feet, following his title reign and his career has yet to recover. However, the current feud with Matt Hardy does give fans hope that maybe, just maybe, Vince has not given up on The Eater of Worlds.

Despite the stale period his career has hit, Bray is still popular among the WWE Universe and when he makes an entrance, his fireflies still come alive. Needless to say, there is still life in this Superstar. Bray Wyatt has all the potential in the world to carry the main roster with his unique, highly entertaining persona. He simply needs a kickstart and a win at the Royal Rumble would mean everything to this struggling star.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
