"The Animal" recently announced his retirement from the ring following his WrestleMania 35 match against Triple H. Batista was one of the biggest stars WWE created during the Ruthless Aggression Era and ended up winning the world championship on 6 different occasions, whilst also triumphing in two Royal Rumble matches.

During his career, he was also a double champion for a short while – holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE World Tag-Team title at the same time.

WWE has given up on Paul Heyman? Here's the story!

‘The Animal’ won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after a battle against Triple H at WrestleMania 21. Later that year, Batista joined forces with fellow WWE legend Rey Mysterio to face the giant threat of Kane and The Big Show.

During the feud, Batista and Mysterio got a shot at the World Tag-Team Championships on the December 16th episode of SmackDown. They then defeated champions MNM to take home the titles, making Batista a double champion.

However, Batista and Mysterio didn’t manage to hold onto their titles for too long. They lost the title two weeks later on SmackDown in the rematch against MNM thanks to interference from the returning Mark Henry.
