Braun Strowman currently holds the Money in the Bank briefcase that gives him a Universal title shot at any time any place of his choosing. Interestingly WWE is trying to cast doubt upon Strowman becoming champion by putting his briefcase on the line against Kevin Owens, but as it seems it might just all be a plan.

Going into SummerSlam Owens will be looking a threat to Strowman's briefcase but the expected might not be happening at all. First thing, if they wanted to make Owens Mr. Money in the Bank from the starting then why would they let Strowman win that briefcase in the first place. Second thing, if Owens beat the Strowman for the briefcase now then it will distort the momentum that Strowman created from last year to all the way down this year's SummerSlam PPV.

Letting Strowman holding the Money in the Bank contract and cashing it successfully will be one smart decision to make by WWE. Coming out victorious from SummerSlam will not only make Strowman look stronger but it will also increase the chances for him to have successful cash-in.
