Cody Rhodes kicked off AEW Dynamite when he opened the show with the first wrestling match on TNT in more than two decades. The American Nightmare took on Sammy Guevara in a match that much like many others last night, contained a number of botches.

Sammy Guevara was looking for a standing frontflip midway through the match when Cody was completely out of position which lead to Guevara landing it on his feet and stumbling as he tried to stand back up. This wasn't the only botch in the match since Guevara was later looking to pin Cody but as he rolled through and locked it in, once again the former WWE star over rolled and then broke it up before the referee was able to count.

This was the opening match of the night and it definitely set the tone for things to come as the botches continued in their numbers for most of the matches. AEW is new to weekly TV and it could be argued that many of the stars are getting used to wrestling for TV as well, so hopefully, the botch count will improve in the future.
