Riho (c) vs Kris Statlander - AEW Women's Championship

A chaotic contest
A chaotic contest

Riho began as explosively as she would have hoped, sending Kris Statlander face-first into the ropes. It didn't take long for the challenger to take control and she tried to go for an early win after a power slam.

After the break, Statlander was in control, taking Riho to the top rope and holding her vertically and keeping her there for seconds before she suplexed her down. In the background, Brandi Rhodes was groaning over Statlander's stupidity for pandering to the crowd and not finishing it right away.

Riho hit a knee strike right after but Statlander took control. In the meanwhile, Awesome Kong and Mel - The Nightmare Collective appeared ringside. Mel took Riho away from the ring, booted her to the face and sent her against the barricade.

Statlander interjected with a suicide dive and confronted Brandi Rhodes but Japanese Deathmatch legend Luther debuted and stopped her, revealing himself to be the fourth member of The Nightmare Collective.

Riho then hit a splash on Luther and got right back into the match, where the two women were trading offense. Riho sunk in the hooks to get a pinfall and somehow got the pin, seeming confused as to what happened. We thought it was a flat finish but it turned out that there was an interjection.

Riho def. Kris Statlander to retain the AEW Women's Championship

The Nightmare Collective began a post-match attack on both women but it stopped as soon as Hiraku Shida jumped in from the crowd and the numbers caught up as Sonny Kiss and Big Swole came in. The Nightmare Collective walked away right after.
