At AEW Fyter Fest, Cody defended his TNT Championship against one of his most dangerous challengers yet.

AEW Fyter Fest TNT Championship: Cody (C) vs Jake Hager

Jake Hager had the power advantage and it paid off early as he took control. Cody went for a single leg takedown in response and transitioned into a side-headlock.

Hager replied with a series of strikes to Cody's midsection. Cody replied with a roll up for a 2-count. Both men went for the ankle lock. Hager went for Arn Anderson who was at ringside but Cody leapt off the top turnbuckle and took him out.

Back in the ring, Cody locked in a Figure-4-leglock but Hager managed to reach the bottom rope pretty early.

Back out to ringside, Hager went for Arn Anderson again. When Cody tried to stop him, Hager hit him with a German Suplex at ringside.

Back from commercial, Hager was in control of the match. He tossed Cody out of the ring and followed him out. Cody tossed Hager headfirst into the ring post.

Back in the ring, Cody hit a Springboard Cutter from the top rope. He followed it up with a powerslam for a 2-count. Hager replied with a Hager Bomb in the corner for a nearfall of his own.

Hager had an ankle lock locked in but Cody managed to reach the bottom rope. Catalina Hager, who was at ringside, slapped Cody across the face while the referee was distracted.

Dustin Rhodes came out after this and caught Hager with a right hand. Cody went for the Cross Rhodes but Hager planted him and went to try and choke him out. Cody pinned Hager's shoulders to the mat and pinned him at Fyter Fest.
