Matt Sydal vs Shawn Spears on AEW Late Night Dynamite

Former WWE Superstar Matt Sydal made his AEW singles debut against Shawn Spears on AEW Late Night Dynamite. Both Sydal and Spears went back and forth to start off the match and Sydal locked in a side headlock early on, grounding Spears.

Spears made it back to his feet and tossed Sydal out of the ring. He missed the kick on his follow-up but caught Sydal with a Sliding Dropkick.

Following the commercial break on AEW Late Night Dynamite, Sydal was back in control, catching Spears with a roundhouse kick but couldn't put Spears away.. He followed it up with a standing Corkscrew Moonsault for another two-count.

Shawn Spears hit back with a sitout pop-up powerbomb for a two-count of his own. Both men went back and forth with knife-edged chops. Sydal caught Spears with a jumping knee strike. Spears replied with a Ushigoroshi.

Spears went to finish Sydal off with the C4 but he caught the top rope and then hit a stun gun against the top rope. Sydal headed to the top rope and hit a flying Meteora but only got a nearfall out of it.

Shawn Spears retreated out to ringside and sat down on a steel chair. Sydal followed him out and hit a running dropkick. We saw Tully Blanchard loading up Shawn Spears' glove while he was recovering at ringside.

Back in the ring, Spears caught Sydal with the loaded left hand and followed it up with the C4 for the win.

Spears tried to get some more shots in after the match but Scorpio Sky came out to make the save.
