What's the story?

All Elite Wrestling will make its debut on weekly TV when the company holds its first-ever tapings on Wednesday, October 2nd at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The show will air live on TNT at 8 pm and will kick off the highly anticipated AEW TV debut.

AEW announced moments ago that the first match officially signed for the TNT debut show is Cody vs Sammy Guevara.

In case you didn't know...

All Elite Wrestling launched back on New Year's Day of this year, and since its inception, the company has held three events en route to All Out taking place over Labor Day weekend in Chicago.

So far, AEW has held its debut Double Or Nothing event in Las Vegas, Fyter Fest, and Fight For The Fallen, all of which have featured the major stars of AEW.

The heart of the matter

All Elite Wrestling has announced the first match for the premiere episode of AEW on TNT, and it will be AEW exec Cody facing Sammy Guevara in a singles match.

Cody appears to be excited about the match announcement, as he commented on the historic bout by tweeting, "I was excited this was the match selected. To have a young & hungry opponent who has no ceiling when it comes to pro-wrestling. Going forward not backwards."

What's next?

All Elite Wrestling is gearing up for its big All Out PPV, the sequel to the critically acclaimed All In event from 2018.

All Out will take place over Labor Day weekend, and will feature Chris Jericho vs Hangman Page to determine the first-ever AEW Champion, Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley, The Dark Order vs Best Friends, Joey Janela vs Darby Allin vs Jimmy Havoc in a Triple Threat match, and more.
