In case you didn't know by now, OWE are a Chinese promotion currently affiliated with AEW and led by Cima and his Stronghearts. Now the wrestling promotion is expanding to the UK and is quietly putting together one of the more impressive looking set of shows this year.
Not only will OWE UK be starting a weekly television series you can view on FITE, but they'll also be crowing an inaugural World Champion, an inaugural Women's Champion and inaugural Tag-Team Champions over the course of a five-day-long set of tapings taking place in London and Liverpool.
So far they've announced several matches for their Day One and Day Two tapings, taking place in London at the Dome on the 18th and 19th of September. Some of the highlights include Robbie X Vs. Shaolin Monk, A Six Women Elimination Match (With Session Moth Martina, Ayesha Raymond, Lana Austin, Lizzy Styles, Charlie Evans and Little Miss Roxxy) and Flying Prince Vs. The Ojmo.
But, perhaps the two standout announcements for the two London events so far are that two of AEW's top tag-teams will also be making their UK debuts and wrestling in OWE UK's 16-team tag-team tournament to crown the first-ever OWE UK Tag-Team Champions.
First of all, we have the hugely popular Luchasaurus coming to the UK for the first time, alongside breakout All In star Marko Stunt, with Luchasaurus' usual handler Jungle Boy being unable to make it.
They'll be taking on the Arrows of Hungary in the first round of the tournament on Day One (the 18th September)
Secondly, Private Party will be taking on two members of OWE's roster Achilles Ben and The Flying Prince. This match takes place on Day Two (September 19th).
With several more announcements expected for Day Two and all three Liverpool dates needing a match-card, OWE UK may have plenty more tricks up their sleeves. We'll be sure to keep you posted if any more major announcements are made. They've certainly teased more!
