AJ Styles is set to face Dean Ambrose and John Cena in a triple threat title match this Sunday at No Mercy

AJ Styles is set to defend his WWE World Championship title at No Mercy this coming weekend against two of SmackDown Live’s biggest Superstars John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match. After the proceedings of SmackDown this week, Daniel Bryan and Renee Young addressed a very confident AJ Styles about the upcoming match during their post-show, Talking Smack on the WWE Network.

AJ came into the set and immediately announced that he was going to defend his title at No Mercy. Renee Young started the interview off by asking how AJ planned to win the match on Sunday, to which the former TNA and NJPW champion replied that he would adapt to the situation because that’s what winners do and AJ declared that he is a winner.

After a few moments of back and forth between Renee and Styles about who AJ thought was the toughest opponent of the two competitors he is set to face on Sunday, AJ answered that he had equal respect for both men before turning the conversation towards Daniel Bryan. Styles accused Bryan of unfairly giving Ambrose the rematch last week even though he has a title match set for the weekend’s pay-per-view.

Daniel Bryan replied that Dean Ambrose did deserve the shot last week and admitted that both he and Shane were not impressed with Style’s victory last month. AJ shrugs it off before mentioning that John Cena shouldn’t even be on the card on Sunday since Styles had already defeated him clean at SummerSlam. When Renee asked Styles who he thinks should be there to take Cena’s place, Styles refers to James Ellsworth, who was meant to be his tag team partner a few weeks back.

In the last few minutes of the interview, things got heated as Daniel Bryan asked AJ Styles if he ever bragged about being the TNA World Champion, IWGP World Champion as well as now holding the WWE World Champion, only one of which has been ever held by the likes of John Cena and Dean Ambrose.

AJ interrupts Daniel as he begins to insinuate that Styles holds his experience with other promotions around the world over Ambrose and Cena, only to mention that AJ doesn’t need to compare himself to anyone and he has been all over the world as the one and only AJ Styles.

He told Bryan that he has been overlooked throughout his entire career and he of all people should know how it felt to be overlooked by everyone. The show ends with AJ storming off after declaring that he is a champion and will knock down anyone who gets in his way because he is a winner.
