Opinion: Alexa Bliss - The Women's Champion to Talk Show Host

Alexa Bliss: A Moment of Bliss
Alexa Bliss: A Moment of Bliss

Alexa Bliss is undoubtedly one of WWE's best female talents. With her skills in the ring and on the mic, she is the total package and the reason she is the first women to hold both Raw and SmackDown Live titles. So why is she reduced to being a flirtatious talk show host?

Last November, Bliss suffered multiple concussions which took her out of her tag match against Trish Stratus and Lita at Evolution. Since then, she served as a valet to Mickie James and Alicia Fox, head of the women's division under then general manager Baron Corbin, and now hosting "A moment of Bliss" which started as a way to insult her opponents starting with Bayley.

Since the segment where she was almost caught with her top off, she has been used mostly as eye candy for the men, forgetting the fact she returned this year during the women's Royal Rumble. Her talk show has her hitting on EC3 hinting at his "package" and on this week's Raw her telling Finn Balor if he shows her his abs she'll show him her... and again gets interrupted like during every show.

Bliss hasn't been mentioned in the title picture since her match with Ronda Rousey at Hell In A Cell last year. The concussions didn't help either as it took her out of action as call-ups from NXT such as Amber Moon was filling her void.

Maybe the show is a way for her to stay relevant as more call-ups have happened since then and it's hard to wedge her in with new talent now in the spotlight. Hopefully soon, Bliss will become more involved in the ring instead of being used to poke at an Attitude Era return.

If not used right, she can potentially become a name on the list of stars who are looking to leave the promotion to pursue other endeavours.
