It has been nearly two years since Alexa Bliss last showed up in WWE. She has been out since then due to maternity leave, but she has been teasing a return for months now, meaning that it won't be long before fans see her again.
According to reports, WWE creative has no plans for her until the holiday season, meaning that she should be back sometime in January. The former Women's Champion could do a lot upon her return, with one of them being a match against WWE legend Trish Stratus.
The seven-time Women's Champion has expressed the desire to return to WWE for one final run, and the creative could create a storyline with Alexa Bliss returning as a heel to challenge Trish Stratus (face) to a retirement match at WrestleMania 41.
This match would make sense since Stratus is Bliss' WWE hero, and the two were set to have a match back in 2018 at the Evolution Premium Live Event, but Alexa's injury woes (concussion) forced her to skip the event.

Fast-forward to today, Alexa Bliss could make her return on the RAW premiere on Netflix (January 6) or the Royal Rumble (February 1) and either assault Trish Stratus backstage or cut a promo on her, setting the stage for a retirement match at 'Mania.
Trish Stratus once said a match with Alexa Bliss would be 'very special'
Trish Stratus and Alexa Bliss had the chance to work together in the ring for a tag team match that featured fellow WWE legends Mickie James and Lita back in 2018 Evolution, but Bliss was pulled from the event due to an injury and missed the opportunity to face the seven-time Women's Champion.
Still, in an interview with Philip Martinez of Newsweek, Trish had nothing but high praise for the former RAW Women's Champion and was hopeful the match with Bliss would eventually happen.
"[Alexa] is very strong in the ring, with her promos kind of what my thing was. It would have been very special. Who knows there’s still time, but working together these past few weeks has been a real pleasure to work with another athlete. She’s a great gal and she does amazing things in the ring," Trish Stratus said. [h/t Fightful]
Nearly seven years later, WWE has the chance to make this match a reality should both superstars be back in action soon.
