Sheamus won the 2015 Money In The Bank Ladder match and held on to the briefcase for months on end. At Survivor Series 2015, Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose to become WWE World Champion, but lost the title immediately after, when Sheamus cashed in his contract on The Big Dog. Sheamus had won the WWE title way back in 2009 when he defeated John Cena at WWE TLC.

The Viper won the MITB contract in 2013, at the namesake PPV. Months later, Orton won the WWE title by cashing the contract in on Daniel Bryan, minutes after the latter had defeated John Cena to win the belt. Orton had won several WWE and World titles before his MITB victory, with his first title coming at SummerSlam 2004.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
