There were reports of backstage news doing rounds about how Randy Orton was the ‘chosen one’ to win the MITB ladder match for the WWE championship.
The apparent plans for Orton winning the briefcase go back two or three weeks.
WWE creative team and officials felt that Orton winning the event will not be something that is anticipated by the fans and that they would definitely not see it coming. Besides this, ‘The Viper’ lost a lot lately and has been out of the title picture for a long time. And this was the perfect opportunity as they felt they needed to “bring him down to build him back up.”
