Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair story has more going on in it

What's hiding in this storyline?
What's hiding in this storyline?

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are two of the most talented performers on the WWE roster, and the two can pull off any story with ease. After their journey in NXT, on to the main roster, the two have tackled every obstacle with ease. However, it seems like the tables have turned and the two will be locking horns soon inside a squared circle.

It's been rumoured for some time that the Women's Championship will be the main event for this year's Wrestlemania, and if the aforementioned is true, we would see them stand toe to toe and truth and nail during their confrontation as they head towards Wrestlemania.

The start to this happened on this week's episode of Raw when Vince McMahon dropped the bombshell and suspended Becky Lynch for 60 days, which gets over days after the granddaddy of them all. Instead, he gave Charlotte Flair an opportunity at Ronda Rousey's title. This fumed 'The Man,' and while it seems like a fight between them, there's a lot going under the layers which need to be understood.

In this article, I look at the reasons behind this change of plans.

#5 A regular fight

Let's Fight
Let's Fight

While I did say that the two will not be just fighting for the title, because there's a lot riding on this storyline, but if the company takes the simplest route, we may see a normal fight between them.

I strongly believe that the same isn't the case behind this story, but let's take this option into consideration for the fans looking for a regular fight between these two talented performers. These two will put on a great match any given day, and if they really give the fans what they want, no one would ponder over why this storyline started in the first place.

#4 Feud between the McMahons to take charge

Who gets the throne?
Who gets the throne?

Vince has never backed down from a fight, and the chairman will do everything in his power to being the boss of WWE. It has been rumoured in the past that the chairman will step down to have Triple H take charge, but as I stated earlier, he wouldn't go down without a fight.

In such a scenario, Becky Lynch will represent Triple H and Stephanie McMahon while Charlotte Flair will represent Vince McMahon. With the obvious result and the chairman shifting focus towards XFL, it is a possibility that Triple H's contender will be the winner, and therefore Vince will not be in charge of day to day operations of the WWE. While some of us may presume it too good to be true, and this may sound unreal, but read the next point to understand more on this developing storyline.

#3 Becky Lynch has shades of Stone Cold Steve Austin

If you agree to this line, gimme a Hell Yeah!
If you agree to this line, gimme a Hell Yeah!

In the last point, I stated that Vince McMahon will not be able to take charge of day to day operations in case his chosen representative doesn't win, and if you thought that isn't possible, let me affirm that there has been a storyline of this style in the past as well.

Stone Cold was called 'The Toughest SOB,' and he and Vince McMahon had a deal wherein if Vince's chosen representative The Undertaker didn't beat The Rattlesnake then Vince would be on the sidelines. The unthinkable happened, and Vince was reinstated into power by Stone Cold Steve Austin only to get his title match.

Becky Lynch has the same character traits as Stone Cold Steve Austin, and it seems like she will be a part of the same set of a storyline. If there's one more way to understand this, Vince called himself 'The Toughest SOB' during the Attitude Era, just the way he called himself 'The Man' tonight on Raw.

#2 Neither Heel nor Babyface

Who is she then?
Who is she then?

In the last slide, I mentioned that Becky Lynch has shades of Stone Cold Steve Austin, and that means that she is neither a babyface or a heel. Stone Cold didn't smile to kids or shake hands, or sign autographs, just as Becky Lynch has been doing since turning into 'The Man' character following Summerslam 2018.

The Man has been able to pull off the storyline so effectively that she has become the talk of the town, and is at the centre of the women's division. She has redefined the way WWE used to treat women in their storylines, and if today's promos are any example, she intends on selling out Wrestlemania.

She is focused on the end product and the work, and not an individual storyline, which is a good thing for not just the company but the performer as well.

#1 Elevate the women's division

Fire!
Fire!

These two are the best in the women's division, and when I say that I don't demean any other women's wrestler. I strongly believe that Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have amazing chemistry and can put forth a splendid performance any given day, and any show.

The two besties share a great bond, and the same is visible during their matches and the performances.

It is the amazing work done by them that elevated the women's division in NXT, and then they went on to fight on Raw and Smackdown. With the current state of affairs, we may see them fight it out any time of the day, and they will tear the house down if they enter the grandest stage of them all with The Baddest Woman on the Planet as part of the match. With a title to fight for, and a performance worth remembering, along with the opportunity to main event the granddaddy of them all, these two have an opportunity to enter their names in the record books that will become the benchmark for others to follow.
