What's the story? After winning the second annual women's Royal Rumble match earlier today, Becky Lynch has now officially booked her ticket to WrestleMania 35 where she will get to challenge the champion of her choosing. However, in the build-up to WrestleMania 35, or rather following the conclusion of Royal Rumble, WWE took to social media in order to tease a potential showdown between 'The Man' and 'The People's Champion' The Rock.In case you didn't know...Heading into tonight's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Becky Lynch was already the #1 contender for the SmackDown Women's Championship which she lost at last year's TLC pay-per-view in a triple threat ladders match to new champion Asuka.Having lost her title match against Asuka, Lynch decided to enter the women's Royal Rumble match later on in the night, as she replaced an injured Lana, who earlier on injured her ankle during Rusev's US Championship defeat to Shinsuke Nakamura. The heart of the matterWith Becky Lynch winning the second women's Royal Rumble match, 'The Man' now has the opportunity to challenge for the Raw Women's Championship which is currently being held by non-other than Lynch's arch nemesis, Ronda Rousey, who she was originally supposed to face at Survivor Series, but couldn't due to an untimely injury.Prior to her historic Rumble win, Lynch gave her thoughts on the idea of a potential match between herself and The Rock, labeling it as a match between The People's Champ and The Man of The People. The People’s Champ v The Man of the People. 🤔— The Man (@BeckyLynchWWE) January 27, 2019The Rock in response, stated that he is willing to break all sorts of records with 'The Man', and is also willing to put over his opponent as well.Let’s break @wwe records. However, with Nia Jax entering the men's Rumble match and taking a superkick, a 619, and an RKO, a match between Becky Lynch and The Rock remains very much possible.
