What’s the story?

During a recent conference call, Becky Lynch weighed in on a myriad of topics.

Speaking to SoloWrestling, Lynch hinted at a possible move from SmackDown to RAW after WrestleMania 34. Besides, Lynch recalled her historic Fatal four-Way Match at NXT TakeOver: Rival, while also revealing the greatest moment of her career thus far.

In case you didn’t know…

Lynch performed for the WWE’s NXT brand from 2013 until her main roster debut came to fruition in mid-2015.

She captured the inaugural WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, defeating several other Superstars such as Alexa Bliss, Nikki Bella, Carmella, Natalya and Naomi at Backlash back in 2016—before dropping it to Bliss after about three months.

The heart of the matter

Thus far, Lynch’s aforementioned SmackDown Women’s title reign has been her only run as champion in the WWE.

She stated the following on the post-WrestleMania Superstar Shake-Up and a potential move to RAW, particularly if a run as the blue brand’s champion isn’t on the cards for her in the near future—

"(Moving to Raw) and having new challenges and a new crop of women's (talent)... maybe that would be the best look for me. I love SmackDown, I love the people on the brand, I love the crowd here, I love the vibe—but, I guess if I think what I always want to do is go for championships, and if that's not in my future on SmackDown, well then I want it to be in my future somewhere else."

Additionally, She also recalled her Fatal 4-Way Match at NXT TakeOver: Rival in February of 2015, against her Four Horsewomen stable-mates Charlotte Flair, Bayley & Sasha Banks—a match that saw Flair drop the title to Banks.

Lynch emphasised that the match was a game-changer as she proved that she could perform with the best, while Women’s Wrestling, in general, was also elevated by the historic matchup.

Furthermore, Lynch elucidated that she’d love to compete in another matchup with her Four Horsewomen stable-mates.

She added that the greatest moment in her career was winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and her aim is to win a Women’s title again—be it on RAW or SmackDown.

What’s next?

Lynch presently competes on the WWE’s Smackdown Live brand.

She is not scheduled to be a part of the title picture on SmackDown, with reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Flair set to defend her title against Asuka at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th.

Author’s take

Lynch could surely benefit from a move to RAW, especially given how her character seems to have hit a plateau in terms of storylines on the blue brand.

“The Irish Lass Kicker” is perhaps one of the most underrated performers in the sports-entertainment industry today, and could very well end up on RAW during the Superstar Shake-Up after WrestleMania 34.
