What's the story?

Sidelined Monday Night Raw Superstar Big Cass recently updated everyone on the status of his serious ACL injury during an appearance on Booker T's podcast, Heated Conversations.

In case you didn't know...

Big Cass has been off of television since the August 21st Monday Night Raw, when he tore the ACL in his knee during a street fight against his former tag-team partner Enzo Amore.

He underwent surgery for the injury and was expected to be out for at least nine months.

The heart of the matter

During a recent interview with WWE announcer and presenter Booker T on his 'Heated Conversations' podcast, Big Cass addressed his recovery progress and indicated that everything seemed to be going well (transcription courtesy of Wrestlezone):

I’m doing good. Just in the process of recovering right now from an ACL injury. Kind of just have a lot of time to myself but I’m doing really good and I’m on schedule to come back when the doctor’s think I’ll be back. So, I’m just rehabbing every day and trying to get back as soon as possible.

Big Cass also detailed the moment he realised that he had seriously hurt himself during the match against Enzo. He said that he hurt it when he was thrown from the ring, feeling it pop when he landed on the floor. Cass then details having to continue the match but being unable to walk.

What's next?

Unfortunately, Big Cass didn't give an update on when exactly we can expect him to return to action, so at this point, we'll have to assume it's still around nine months after the surgery, putting his return somewhere near May 2018.

Author's take

It's good to hear that Big Cass is doing okay. He has the size and look of a star, and looked like he was moving onto something pretty big during his split from Enzo, until the injury derailed that progress.
